Question about Yamaha Royal Star Venture Motorcycles

1 Answer

Problem with communication system. When I talk to other bikers on CB radio they hear me loud and clear. When they talk to me they sound garbled and unclear. Also, even when my michrophone is not keyed, it sounds like I have an open michrophone. I can hear myself myself through the system. It sounds like my michrophone is always open. Can you help?

When my wife and I travel in different cars we like to use the CB. She uses the handheld, I have a CB in my truck. When transmitting I know she is talking but it is all garbled. She hears me fine.

who is transmitting if it is someone else and you are hearing garbled it could be because they are using single side band on their A.M. CB radio .which your radio cannot detect.

I have a cx-366ce cb cannot hear talking what is wrong

Is squelch turned too high that it is blocking too many signals?
Otherwise, it could be a faulty cable on the mic as the PTT button disconnects the speaker on the CB and a broken wire can cause the speaker to be disconnected.

Sounds like you need a tech to "ALIGN" your radio! I have one of the same radios I bought at a yard sale last summer. I just haven't taken it to a tech yet. I have to many radios! lol

I have a 148 gtl.. when you tx, there is a loud high pitched tone at the receiving end(receiving radio)...and it is garbled...tried switching radios and when I tx the 148, the other radio had the same high...

how far away are they? It sounds to me like they are in the same room???

If so, you are getting feed back. CB's are not meant to be that close. As well, the also would raise another issue. Are their antenna's hooked up?

CB radio's need a CB antenna or you can damage the radios. The radio energy will not leave the radio and burn up the transmit section of the radio.

the both need an antenna, and the antenna needs to be tuned.

Also, if you are operating them close like that, you can also damage the receive on the radios.

also, when 2 radios are too close, it over loads the receive circuits on the radio ant thats why its garbled.

My talk back is low cant hear it

You really don't want to have a loud talk back. Its usually controlled by your mic gain. the louder it is, the louder your talk back is.

Talk back is used so you can her how your audio is being transmitted. It makes a lot of sense when you have echo. use it to hear you echo to make sure its not too much.

The problem with a loud talkback is, if it is too high, you will get feed back in your transmit.

You should leave it where it is.

SX700 2-way radio garbled

ok sounds like there is a lose connection in the airal or the speaker so it would probably need to be repaired

your best option is to take it to a electronics repair centre near you that specialise in motorola equipment

Cant talk through mic

Sounds like a bad or miswired mic. Try a new mic ( use the proper cobra mic ). If the problem still continues, check all the swiches on the front of the radio and make sure you don't have any cold solder joints ( broken lead to board connections ). Good Luck
