Why can't you just polish the inside of the cylinder head a bit? You should replace the cylinder head gasket.

Plugs fouled

there are two ways plugs foul up is too much fuel or oil is getting in to the cylinders, does the bike blow excesive amont of smoke on start up and when you are riding, and is it one spark plug or all if it is a single plug and comes out black with oil then it could be a vave seal or it could be a damaged oil ring on your piston ,if it is doing it on all cylinders then more than likely the piston and rings need replacing and the bores to be honed or rebored to the next size piston and rings, hope tis helps cheers pete

Hi,redone the top end of my Rm125 1989,it struggled to reach powerband for a while, but eventualy it reached it!Next morning I started the old lady and there was almost no compression with a funny noise in...

Hi, i presume that before you rebuilt the top end you had no issues? Normaly this happens when either you have exsessive play in either the big end or the small end bearing, this would be recognised by up and down moovment in the conrod for big end and piston for small end, this would account for spark plug contact only. The other thing to check was the piston identical in height to the old one, did it have the same cut outs for fuel transfere, and finaly did you install it in the correct direction with the rings located in the peg positions facing the inlet side of the barrel, was the new head gasket the same thickness as the old one, did you run i the new piston for a while if the piston and cylinder were new a bed in period must be observed

Engine revs up while idling

Check the Exhaust Valve actuating rod is firmly in it's bush and the actuating arm is screwed to the valve actuator...the diagram on this link below refers.

Have you looked closely for air leaks between carby and engine, airbox obstructions or wrong sized pilot jet? Choke plunger thread not loose allowing extra fuel to surge through? Try turning air mixture screw IN half turn. The site below has the complete bike in exploded diagrams. Hope this all helps, good luck.
