The clutch and transmission are behind the primary cover. You need as special tool to disassemble the clutch assembly in order to "inspect" it. Removing the transmission is a complicated job. I would strongly suggest that if you wish to do these jobs that you purchase a service manual as it is far too complicated for me to type out every step you must do in order to do these jobs. Plus, some areas are better explained with a picture.

Good Luck
Steve

Where is the speed sensor located on a 2002 Harley Davidson sportster

Hi Anonymous, always check your instrument fuse before performing the next procedure, try cleaning your speed sensor located on top of the transmissions right side between the top cover and the chrome starter end cap on Twin Cams and on top of the engine case between the rear cylinder and the starter motor for Sportsters. Remove the the bolt that secures the sensor and pull it out of the transmission. Inspect sensor for obvious damage and repace if necessary. If sensor has no damage then wipe clean any obvious contamination like micro fiberous material with a clean rag and reinstall, torque bolt to 8 ft lbs. Please visit the website below for more information and good luck.

1990 Honda Accord Only the speedometer stoped working but some time not to much it will kinda go crazy and work for a few mins.

Hmm...... If what you are saying is that everything else on the cluster works except for your speed guage then, try checking out your speed sensor>>? It's located on the trans.. look for a harness that plugs into the trans. The usual spot is always towards the rear of the trans. Make sure it's snapped on and not loose..Good luck!

Can castrol hypoy c lubricant be used in primary on roadking or sportster

sportster tranny shares the oil with the engine, use only 20-50 oil or as recomended by manufacturer.

1990 Grand Prix with 4 speed that will not engage sometimes

high milage & 20 Y old, It sounds like the trany is going, yes it could be a connection some where but more then likely the clutches are going or the pump is going (which means your not getting the presure you need to engage the clutches, check to see if you are leaking trany fluid). You can try changing the fluid and filters. You will need to take the Trans Pan off to change the filter, this may help, but will not be a solution, simply a way of prolonging the most probable issue; it could also accelerate the issue, depending on how regularly the filter has been changed. Good luck!

1990 Dodge 250 2wd trans fit 4x4 1988 Ramcharger

if you are talking about the trans no! the 2wd trans has a longer output shaft than the 4x4 you can have the shaft changed so that it can work if you are having trouble finding a trans.
