Try this....should switch it back and forth

At the odometer setting (the one that shows your total miles you have on the bike) press and hold the "select" button for about 8 seconds. MPH goes first to KPH. Press and hold again and your radiator setting goes from F to C. Press and hold again, C stays put and KPH changes back to MPH. Press and hold again and you're back to MPH and F.

I have a 2001 triumph TT 600 that is idling rough and is backfiring any idea on what it could be?

Hi, Joe and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a "LOAD" test if necessary.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.
6. Faulty spark plug cables, leaking or broken, internal damage check for spark leakage in the dark.
7. Faulty ignition module, switch, CKP, MAP, CMP, sensor and or any connector in the ignition circuit could have corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets
8. Burnt exhaust valve or air leak in the exhaust system.

I have a 2007 Bonneville purchased in Switz but now registering in the UK. The speedometer is in KPH and must read MPH - can I just replace the KPH faceplate with an MPH faceplate or do I have to replace...

Hi. I have a 2006 Bonneville which needs changing to K.P.H. as I have just moved to France. I also have to change the headlight lense, how do you fancy doing a straight swop. My speedo has nearly 10,000 miles on the odometer

How to change from mph to kph

As the triumph is a British bike, the speedo reads in MPH. You can get stickers off the internet (ebay) that you can stick on the speedo glass to remind you of the KPH speeds.

Also be aware that my Triumph speedo from around 12 years ago read faster than I was actually doing any way, even at speeds of only 50kph!

support the bike so that the front wheel is off the ground.
1, remove front mudgaurd, 2, remove brake caliper, 3 disconnect any speedo drive cable or wires, 4, loosen axel nut, and withdraw the axel, 5, remove the front wheel.

Speedo only reads 1 & 2 mph

Common problem on Triumphs - the rotating magnet in the speed sender on the front axle gets broken. This typically happens after some front wheel service activity like tire replacement, due to improper re-fitment of the wheel.
The magnet is not available as a stand-alone replacement part unfortunately and the entire sender assembly must be replaced - not cheap, about $170 (sorry to be bearer of bad news)

Speedo is not working - cannot locate switch near rear of engine

The best thing to do, (and to find out exactly what is wrong) is to take it to your nearest triumph dealer. They will basically hook it up to an electronic diagnostic tool. And can fix most if not all electrical problems with it. If not they will tell you exactly what needs to be done. It usually costs around $50 to do this, but its easily worth it.
