Too much oil on the chain.
Reduce the oil feed to the chain or wash the rear tyre more often. I would go for the latter.

Where is the oil drain plug on the sx75 John Deere riding mower


It is not a plug, it is a drain petcock (nozzle) you will need about 2 feet of hose that you slip over the nozzle, then turn the Knurled Knob (brass ?) behind the drivers side rear tire (maybe the passengers side rear tire) It will probably have oil on it and may not be that visible, it is right at the bottom of the engine. Not that fun...but it is easy.

My ferris IS 3000 zero turn mower. why will the right rear wheel will not move?


FIRST CHECK THE BRAKE MAKE SURE IT IS FREE,IF YOU CANT TELL DICONNECT IT. NOW THAT IS NO FACTER,CHECK THE BELT DRIVE MAKE SURE ITS ON/TIGHT,NO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL FOR THAT SIDE IN THE RESUVORE,I DOD KNOW IF HAVE TWO SEPERATE TANKS OR JUST ONE.NOW I WOULD JACK THAT SIDE OFF THE FLOOR[TIRE] ,GET A PAN UNDER THERE /REMOVE THE FILTER ON THAT SIDE.WHEN CRANKING THE ENGINE TO START OIL WILL SHOOT OUT IF THE ABOVE IS CHECKED.IF NOT REINSTALL THE FILTER,REFILL THE OIL,AND START MOVE THE FR LEVER BACK /FORTH WHILE LOOKING AT THE HYDROSTATE ROD THAT THE LINKAGE IS HOOKED TO IS MOVING,TIGHTEN IF NOT,IF ALL ABOVE LOOKS GOOD THEN MY FRIEND YOU HAVE A BAD HYDROSTE,BE NICE TO HERE BACK STEVE

Your Serow should get around 70 Miles per gallon (28 kilometers per liter). I find that the oil in my bike is thrashed after 1000 miles of riding. It only takes one quart of oil to change it so that is probably the best interval for a single cylinder dirt bike. In you case every 1600 to 2000 kilometers. You should use only a JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate/year round. 20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Car oils use different additives and may cause scoring in certain types of cam bearings. Do not use any oil that says " Energy Conserving " on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. If you choose Synthetic oils, they will help your bike run cooler and shift easier. Shell Rotella T and Rotella T Synthetic 15w-40 are inexpensive JASO MA oils. Trials bikes use tire pressures around 10 PSI (.7 kg/cm). Lower pressures are used for better traction off road. Street bike tires run higher pressures around 30 to 35 PSI (2.1 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm)for road driving. This gives better cornering and tire wear. For good all around performance for on/off riding you probably want to run 25 to 30 PSI (1.8 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm). For mostly street use 30 to 35 PSI (2.1 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm). There is probably a sticker on the frame near the side cover that tells you the factory recommended tire pressure for your model. Ride and make adjustments from there.

What would cause oil to get in the air filter? Also, what would cause the front tire to wear unevenly.


Uneven tire wear is caused by running with the tire pressure too low. Often 35 PSI will keep the tire wear more even. If you ride a long distance with a strong cross wind you may notice wear on the windward side of the tire (just off center). This is because after riding in the crosswind for a long period of time you have been leaning into the wind and are wearing the tire off center.
Oil on the air filter typically is coming from the crankcase breather. Check your oil, it is probably contaminated with gas from your tank and the oil needs to be changed as well as your air filter.
If you have a vacuum style fuel petcock , the vacuum diaphragm has a hole in it. The gas leaks past the diaphragm, down the vacuum line, into the intake manifold, into the cylinder, past the piston rings, and into the crankcase where it mixes with your oil.
If you have a standard on / off style petcock, all you have to do is leave your fuel on and have a float needle stick in one of you carburetors. The result is the same , the crankcase fills with all your expensive gas from the fuel tank. This can happen to any motorcycle that is in perfect order.
If the four hole washer in any style petcock gets worn (thin or torn) , that can be the cause of a fuel spill into the engine. Always turn your fuel petcock off when not riding.
Start with a thorough inspection of your fuel petcock for bad rubber parts. Replace any bad parts with new. K&L makes after market fuel petcock repair kits if you just want to rebuild . If money is no object a brand spanking new fuelcock will work for sure. If running a quality fuel system cleaner like "Chevron Techron" does not stop the carburetor float needles from sticking, your may have to disassemble the carburetors and clean them properly and replacing the float needles during the process.

Do i have to leave my bike on the kick stand to add the oil? or do i have to stand my bike up? and what should the tire preasure be on the front and back tires?


On your Sportster, leave the bike on the side stand to check your oil. Now there are two marks on the stick. The top mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Do not overfill. As long as the oil is on the stick, start the bike up and allow it to warm up. Once warm, check the oil. NEVER add oil to a cold engine. Why? Because when Harleys are allowed to sit for a while, the oil seeps past the check ball in the oil pump. This allows oil to pool in the crankcase. If a quart of oil seeps past this ball and you check the oil before starting the bike, it'll be a quart low in the tank. But that quart of oil may be in the crankcase. When you start the bike up, the oil pump pumps the oil out of the crankcase and now suddenly, you're a quart overfull. We're talking a big mess now. So, as long as you know you've got oil in the engine, start it up and warm the engine before adding oil.

Tire pressure should be 30 psi in the front tire, 36 psi in the rear with a single rider, 40 psi with two riders.

How do i remove left rear wheel to replace tire on craftman riding mower model 917272140


First Raise the mower and set the draw bar on a block or jackstand or something. Now pull off the black plastic cap it might be harden from age so pliers will help here. Now take a screw driver and stick it in that small grove in that E-clip and turn the handle to prize off the E-clip. Now remove the large washer there may be two. Pull and rock that tire back and forth there is a steel keyway in the axle. It all could be rusty so spray it with oil and use a hammer on the back side if needed.

Dry rotted tires on riding mower. I can't get the


Try some penetrating oil around where the rim and shaft meet. Spray as far into the space as possible. Let sit for a little while to let the oil work. You may have to persuade it with a hammer.

Need to change the back tire or put it back on the rim


Find someone with a racheting cargo strap. Jack up the mower (put a stand under it) and place the strap in the center of the tire and tighten it up...the tire side walls will push out againts the wheel and you should be able to get it to seal and hold air.
