After riding the bike the oil warms and thins so finds it easier to find its easy out. It sounds like you have a leaking seal that needs replacing. Found out exactely which seal is leaking by wiping all oil off the bike and getting down and watching where it comes from it will start with a drip then go from there
If its a 4 stroke it uses engine stroke gear oil basically your normal four stroke car engine has seperate transmission oil but i do believe on a bike you get engine/gearbox oil you just need to get your oil viscosity right i mean for example 10w/40 if you go to a bike shop tell them your bime year n make you won't go wrong mate
Clean all oil from the bike exterior. Leave it sitting in an upright position for a period of time. This may require a bike lift or other such device. Then look for leak source. Make sure oil level is not too high. When changing oil it often gets on the cross member and may leak when on the jiffy satnd for a while until it is all gone from this area. Make sure to always use thread sealant and a good o-ring on the drain plug.
Check your linkeage bushing (plastic). Dorman makes a replacement, these tend to break. In the mean time, you can Jerry rig it. I've seen people use zip ties to get by.
Gday mate, geoff here, sounds like you are low on transmission oil, check if the level is low, do this with the engine running in park with the handbrake on, also if the oil is not red but has been "burnt" and is brown, it will need to be changed, hope this helps, geoff.
The leaking coolant is a sure fire sign that you likely have a blown head gasket or your water pump is not pumping water any longer and the bike is overheating.
The leaking oil could be coming from your power valve vent - is it pitch black oil and is it coming from the front of the engine?
What color is the oil? Are you sure its gear oil? Is the gear oil milky and foamy? Is the gear oil level high or low? Is there water in the oil?
Sorry for all the questions - there are several things that could be happening here.
first thing to do is always check fluid levels... get car warmed up, then with feet on the brake pedal run it through all the shift positions from park to first...now put in park, leave car running and check the fluid level it shouldnt smell burnt and if low add a small amounts at a time till its brought up to proper level. start with half pints at a time..this isn't like adding car oil. if this is good then its time to let a transmission shop have a look.
hi bud ok mate 1st check the wheels are not out of ballance this will cause horrible vibrations 2nd give the bike a service clean/change air filter replace spark plugs and oil and oil filter and then to the back fires on carb there will be 2 screw picture below demonstrates once you have found the mixture screw turn it in 1/4 of turns at a time until it improves this will decrease the amount of fuel going into the barrel as at the moment you have too much fuel going in and not enough being burnt so the access fuel goes in the exhaust and the exhaust is very hot so it ignites in the exhaust causing backfires
hi mate over filling will cause oil to leak out off air breather near the filler plug it will say something like 700cc = 700 ml im not sure if that will show on your bike but on all the bikes i have worked on have had this or measure the amount you take out
