Question about 1986 Suzuki LS 650 Savage

1 Answer

I have a 1986 Suzuki ls 650, and the fuel mixture seems to be a problem.. The spark plug keeps getting fouled with only running every 100 miles.. as soon as I clean the black deposits off and reinsert it,, it runs fine for that short time.. and getting to the plug is not easy, with removing the seat and tank, etc.. do you know the proper fuel screw adjustment setting, or possible carburetor fix......??? Also, I have noticed that the fuel overflow will soak the ground when I stop at traffic lights.. Thanks..

2004 Suzuki Ozark 250 runs great but after a hour of run time it fouls plug already installed new carb flushed fuel system is there any electrical problems that I don't no about ?

fouling plugs means carbon across the electrode gap or carbon build up down the sides of the ceramic insulation allowing the current to short out rather than spark
,If that is what is happening , it is too rich or burning oil or the auto oil injector for the oil/fuel mixture- as in 2 stroke- is allowing excessive oil into the mixture
you have several options
have that mixture properly adjusted using less oil
check the carby float levels
use multipoint plugs ( same as is used on outboard engines and rotary engines)
or overhaul the engine with new rings and bearings

I have 2007 suzuki intruder the front spark plug was replaced 3 times due to intermitant spark. Each time i check the spark plug no spark then replace the plug then spark then runs for short period the No 1...

Fouling of the spark plug makes the exhaust extremely hot due to the burning of the fuel mixture inside the exhaust pipe and the spark plug end turn to black, fouling of the spark plug may be due to too rich fuel mixture check the correct setting of the air valve.

I have a 1995 Honda 750cc Magna. I have to change spark plugs about every 100 miles or it don't start.

Here's my $.02. Your plugs are getting fouled cause the bike is running rich. Adjust the air/fuel mixture screw to make it run leaner.

    My bike wont fire

First put a nail in the plug boot and hold it close to the engine and crank it over to see if you have spark to the plug, if you do, pull the spark plug out and see if it's wet. If the plug is dry put about a teaspoon of gas in the plug hole and put it back together, it should run for a few seconds. If it does that you have a fuel supply problem. It may have a fuel shutoff valve inoperative, or a carburetor problem. If you have no spark to start with and the plug is wet with gas, you have an ignition problem. If the exhaust smells like gas you are probably getting lots of fuel, but the spark plug can tell us lots of things. A new spark plug probably won't hurt either.
