I am not familiar with a 00 kx 125.

Typically, a clutch cable has a barrel (or other special shaped piece) on the end which clips into a holder on the lever OR there is a threaded rod with two nuts on it to allow for adjustment.

I hope this helps.

The clutch will not spring back after you pull the clutch handle

Unhook both ends of your clutch cable if it is binding at all replace it. If the lever on the motor does not go all the way back to riding position (disengaged clutch position). You may have to disassemble the motor to check for a broken spring or damaged clutch engagement mechanism.

Clutch slipping

Clutch plates are probably toasted. Drain the oil, remove the cover where the clutch cable goes into and check them out. Not hard to replace but you do need a special tool to get the plates off/on.

Be sure you were given the correct cable, The stock cable is part number 54011. Compair the old cable to the new one.

I have a kx 125 1992 model and i cant select neutral. i had to rebuild the engine last week and ive been told ive put the gearbox back together wrong, what do i do ?

The easiest fix to try is to replace the two springs on the shift mechanism. The stopper wheel spring is the most important. It is what indexes the shift drum position.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!
