no,there is a reason why the edge is like that,if not it is damaged,fix the reason it is damaged and get a new connecting rod,if you cant get just one,replace all of them and pistons and rings,stop trying to be cheap,it is the heart of the motor

What may cause a problem to the connecting rod

The connecting rod may be damaged by lack of oil or by over-revving the engine. Also the rod bearing could spin. These will require internal engine repairs to be made.

Well if the connecting rods hit the crank, it could scratch the bearing surface. If the pistons were at the top of the cylinders, and you have an interference engine, the valves could have struck the pistons but they probably would have moved down and not caused any damage.
You would have known if the rods jammed against the crank since that would have stopped the crank from turning.

You didn't give the make and model of saw but that being said
IF you don't have rod bolts to take the rod cap off then the old rod and crank is replaced as a unit with a new one. Usually.
Not cheap.

Lawn mower is a craftsman model ys4500 was running fine 10 min ago. Front end started to shake and engine made a god awful noise and died. Mower was on blacktop road when this happened. What could it be?

Ooooh, sounds bad. Can you turn the engine by hand? If not, engine is seized. Can you turn it freely a little and then it hits a hard stop? Then the connecting rod is broken. The good news is a seized engine is not guaranteed to be a death sentence for the engine. There are ways to free it, then inspect for damage. The connecting rod, may have done damage to the block or not, depends on where it failed. The connecting rod requires disassembly of the engine to fix.

Connecting Rod is broke.

My name is Dane. Most of the time due to the damage done to the engine from a broken connecting rod, you will have to replace the engine. I would search for a good used one.

Is a special tool required to remove inner tie rod from relay rod on 2001 Tahoe.? Also what should torque be?

Relay Rod Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Raise and support the vehicle
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Engine protection shield, if equipped
    • Steering damper from the relay rod, if equipped Note: Use the proper tool in order to separate all the tie rods and the ball joints.

    • Tie rod ends (F) (See: Tie Rod Ends)
    • Idler arm ball stud nut (J) and discard the nut (See: Idler Arm)
    • Pitman arm nut (H) and discard the nut (See: Pitman Arm) Remove the idler arm from the relay rod gm_trk_sub15_idler_from_relay_rod.gif

    • Relay rod from the idler arm ball stud using the J24319-B or other suitable puller Remove relay rod from pitman arm ball stud gm_trk_sub15_relay_rod_rem.gif

    • Relay rod from the pitman arm ball stud using the J24319-B or other suitable puller
    • Relay rod from the vehicle
  3. Inspect the threads on the tie rod ends for damage
  4. Inspect the ball stud threads for damage
  5. Inspect the ball stud seals for excessive damage
  6. Clean the threads on the ball studs
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Relay rod to the vehicle
    • Relay rod to the pitman arm ball stud
    • Relay rod to the idler arm ball stud and make sure the seal is on the stud
    • New pitman arm prevailing torque nut
    • New idler arm prevailing torque nut and tighten the idler arm and pitman arm nuts; Torque to: 46 ft. lbs. (62 Nm)
    • Tie rod ends
    • Steering dampener to the relay rod, if equipped
    • Engine protection shield, if equipped
  2. Lower the vehicle
  3. Check the wheel alignment
  4. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repairs

I'm looking for the 2000 isuzu rodeo 3.2L v6 connecting rod bearings torque specs.

1. Check the connecting rod alignment If either the bend or the twist exceeds the specified limit,the connecting rod must be replaced. Bend per 100 mm (3.937 inch) Limit: 0.15 (0.0059) Twist per 100 mm (3.937 inch) Limit: 0.20 (0.0078)

2. Measure the connecting rod thrust clearance. Use a feeler gauge to measure the thrust clearance at the large end of the connecting rod If the clearance exceeds the specified limit, the connecting rod must be replaced. Standard: 0.16 mm - 0.35 mm (0.0063 inch - 0.0138 inch) Limit: 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch)

3. Measure the oil clearance between the connecting rod and the crankshaft.

    1. Remove the connecting rod cap nuts and the rod caps (12). Arrange the removed rod caps in the cylinder number order.
    2. Clean the rod bearings and the crankshaft pins.
      1. Carefully check the rod bearings. If even one bearing is found to be damaged or badly worn, the entire bearing assembly must be replaced as a set. Reinstall the bearings in their original positions. Apply plastigage to the crank pin.
      2. Reinstall the rod caps (12) to their original positions. Tighten the rod cap nuts. Torque: 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) Note: Do not allow the crankshaft to rotate.
      3. Remove the rod caps.
        1. Measure the width of the plastigage and determine the oil clearance. If the oil clearance exceeds the limit, replace the rod bearing as a set. Standard: 0.019 mm - 0.043 mm (0.0007 inch - 0.0017 inch) Limit: 0.08 mm (0.003 inch)
        2. Clean the plastigage from the bearings and the crankshaft pins.
