Hi, how is your spark plug condition, is it in primo condition?
Most spark plugs are resistor types, so when they are not working it just died.
One way I find is good indicator is, now you know that one is firing and one is not, right?.
1.Take one spark plug out at a time, clean them make sure that their anode are clean from soot and oil, it is not wet by unburned fule droplets.gap the plugs to factory recommended gap..
2. Write a "1" on the first one you took out then mark "2" on the second one.
3. Switch them around and see if the one that earlier didnot want to fire will work in the new position.
4. How to tell which works or not. You know which one works in the beginning when you started the bike before you gap and cleaned it. Keep the exhaust pipe from that working cylinder in mind.
5. After you cleand and gap it properly you swith their location and now check which exhaust pipe cylinder got hot.
6. If the same exhaust cylinder got hot as in the begining then your coil is not giving electrical pulses to fire the spark plug.
7. If it heats up the dead exhaust pipe then you spark plug needs replacing, and do replace both of them together..
8. Now to tackle your carb, you had done a very thorough clean up in you carb, meaning, ensuring your carb float level is correct, the main and idle jet needles are clean from gunks, no air leaks in your bowl diaphragm. Your fuel flows correctly without obstruction from the tank meaning the fuel flow tap is wide open .
9. Your battery state is fully charged.
10. With all that, you should have no problem.
Cheers. Don't forget to mark this advise.

Kawasaki 360 Prairie 2012 will not run off a choke

Hi Jacob:
I'd be looking for a fuel supply problem.
Try checking the fuel filter to make sure it is not plugged.
The next thing would be to drain the carb and give it a good flush.
Then give it a try........... if running............Ta Da!

If not, then I'd pull the carb and give it a thorough cleaning, including gently using compressed air to make sure tat all the passages and jets are not obstructed.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

B&s 22hp engine won't start

Hi Charles:
I'd start by checking the spark plug condition and function.
Wet........... no spark
Dry............ no fuel
Check for spark anyway. Hot and blue.
Try priming carb with a squirt of gas.
Drain and flush carb. You may need to remove and thoroughly clean if gummed up.

Check and replace the impulse line if you haven't already. How did you set your carb screws after the rebuild? Start with them lightly seated and then give each a 3/4 turn out to get yourself started.

Gas floods out of the exhaust manifold

Stuck float valve, letting too much fuel into the carb. Try taking the bowl off of the carb and checking to make sure that the float needle moves freely up and down. If there is evidence of gumming inside the bowl you will want to get some spray carb cleaner and clean everything in there thoroughly.

Just bought a 1994 Shadow 1100.Bike was sitting for a while Got it running but wont idle, and Back fires .Would this be a carb.problem or something else?

Yes, it is a carb problem. The carbs need to be thoroughly cleaned. It won't idle because the slow speed circuit is gummed up. The back fire is a situation where one carb is driving another. The best carb is driving the engine and the worst carb is running rich. This imbalance causes the backfire.

Will not start. It is 3 years old and has not been used for about 6 months. When starter is pulled, the engine ratate, but does not seem t fire on any of the strokes.

You need to go over this machine thoroughly, disassemble carb and give it a full cleaning. Remove gas tank and clean thoroughly. Replace plug, change oil, new air filter the works! It should be fine after a little TLC, Good Luck and have fun!

Vstar 650 classic. only will idle.

hello and welcome
this is a very very commom problem after the cycle has gone over a storage period of anything over a month or so. what has happened is the deteriorated fuel has plugged the idle jet, and possibley other jetting. this is verified by pulling out the choke allows it to run. because this makes of for the loss of fuel the jets are not produceing. so to fix this you will need to remove the carbs and take out the jets and clean them thoroughly with a carb cleaner and possibly a very small gauge wire to break up builup. especially in the pilot jet. unfortunately fuel added carb cleaners dont seem to work for this kind of problem and to fix right they should be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly. thank you.

Honda cbr 600 wont start

hi, each lead has the specific number on it. if you do this correctly then they genrally give you an idea to where the sit in the coils( the way they bend :-) ) also i believe the coils are better off been attached to the frame once you are sure leads are in corect order and possitioned correctly in the coils.i just presumed the coils neaded earthing. make sure battery is pleny charged as a bad battery can just hinder. it is also very easy to flood the bike so just check the plugs again. if they are unusually wet then dry them off and try again . otherwise maybe try cleaning all electics.

hope this somehow helped

Karcher 3000 psi won't start.

It sounds more like a carb problem flooding and dumping some gas into the oil. This unit probably has a low oil sensor and the gas could be affecting this. I would have somebody look at the carb and find out why doing this, change the oil and try again. I have one that leaks gas because of float problems, that has done it since new, waiting for spring to remedy. Good luck, Also you can go to Karcher.com for a parts explosion and manual if needed.
