Chances are the float needle is stuck closed. Remove the float bowl and spray carb cleaner at the float pin while gently lifting the float then releasing the float to drop freely. Do this several times until the gas starts to flow when the float drops downward. Check also that the gas is turned on and gas is in the tank. carburetor not getting gas to - tombones49_12.gif

Our mountaineer is getting gas into the oil. What could possibly be the problem.

Fuel pressure regulator. or stuck open injector/s. The only way gas can reach the oil is threw the piston rings. Gas will seep threw them. regulators can dump a lot of fuel threw the plenum. An open injector will bleed off pressure(when turned off)) and dump gas right into the piston.

Honda 8 horse engine , only 20 hours on it , starts if you put gas down the cab but leaks gas threw the ehaust and has white smoke when its running , wont stay running , then gas is coming out of the...

It sounds like your carburetor float is stuck open, which would explain the flooding, the white smoke, and the gas coming out of the exhaust. Sounds like you may have gotten a faulty carburetor. If you can, I would return it where you bought it and get a replacement. Else, you will need to have the carburetor rebuilt, or have the valves checked out.

Are you saying that this is a brand new trimmer or is it new to you, used trimmer? You are describing a problem that is typical of a used trimmer.

This is a sign of a clogged gas cap. When the gas cap can't breathe, it chokes out the carburetor.

Try this: The next time you run the trimmer, and it starts to die, loosen the gas cap, it should start running again.

I have a ryobi 790r weedeater and i need the gas tank off . How do I do this?

On the 790R you will have to remove the carburetor and the four screws of the plastic housing behind it. The gas tank will then slip out.You will need to replace both the housing and carburetor gaskets.

Hope this is of some help, Lamar
