2004 flht with engine running there is no tack no speed-o no odomiter with engine off tack click's on and off drains battery

Sounds as if there is a short in one of the tach wires.....

get ahold of a volt light, and systematically track down the short...


start at the closest point to the battery and work your way to the tach, or you could replace the whole tach system...

Have you checked the crank position sensor for damage, loose wires? This sensore is what provides the input to these and if it si shorted out then that will be the problem. Check the wiring from the sensor to the gauges for a short as well
