You might want to inspect the wires you tied into for the mirror signal lights.....did you cut into the wiring harness to make a connection? It sounds like you may have damaged a wire on the ignition circuit and it is shorting to ground...or you tied into the ignition power and the lights are drawing down the voltage on the circuit.

How to remove mirror mounted turn signal on toyota prius c

Discussion in 'Prius c Accessories and Modifications' started by WD0AFQ, ... You don't need to removethe Mirror head from the car or the door trim panel. ... You can't replace just the bulb in the mirror mounted turn signal. The bulb, plug and lens are a sealed unit. Toyota really did a number on this design.

I have a 03 Alero 2.2L and the clicking sound of the turn signals kept going on even though I wasn't using them. I located the hazard switch and replaced it and that seemed to take care of that but now I...

If this turns out to be an electrical wiring problem, it will be a doozy!

I once found a problem with a friend's tail lights doing crazy things, signals bouncing all around, blinking when they shouldn't and so forth, reminds me of yours. He had replaced bulbs in a tail light with entirely wrong bulbs, was a two filament bulb (you know, with two little button terminals on the base) in a one filament, single contact button socket...or maybe vice versa, was a long time ago, but was the wrong bulb anyway, and caused that whole side of the rear lights to go crazy and just about drove him crazy too. Does this sound eerily familiar?
I would check the bulbs, make sure they are the right ones. Those corner lights, are they supposed to blink with the turns, or no?
Finally, and this may turn out to be your problem, you may have a bad turn signal switch. On American made cars, the brake light wire is routed through the turn signal switch. That's why they share the same filament in the same bulbs they work at...yeh, check the bulbs, then try a used turn switch from a salvage yard-just plug it into the harness connector without installing it first, and see if it solves the problem. If that not it, you will need professional help-and counseling maybe by, I'm joking. Post back with what you find out.

Turn signal flashes quicker occasionally

If you have a trailer hooked up, extra brake light on bike carrier or any other extra lights that were not installed at the factory, when it flashes quicker then you need a heavier duty flasher, to handle more bulbs on the circuit. Can be picked up at any auto parts store. Or one of the aftermarket lights connected may have a bulb not working. If not anything extra than usually means a bulb is not working somewhere in the factory installed lighting system, turn signal, side marker, bulb on back of mirror, tail light bulb or dashboard indicator lightbulb.

Turn signals not working

1: if the turn signal is not flashing the arrow just illuminates on the dash and says lit you might have a to change out the bulbs to working ones. on my jeep the bulbs turned on but the extra filliment on the bulb was burned out and didnt allow my lights to flash.
2:if the bulbs are good then replace the flasher is a 10.00 part you can get at the autopart store it usually next to the fuse box or clipped on the steering colum.
3: the switch might have a corrosion build up that does not allow the votage to go through the switch. you will have to remove the steering wheel to repair this
4: check your fuse.

2001 side mirror turn signals do not work. Fuse

If the turn signals on the truck work correctly, this would be a bulb issue.

The best directions I have found with pictures are from Muth ( mfgr of signal mirrors ) :
Enter truck info, and on the product listing page are the install directions for download in PDF format. Download, and use the directions to the glass removal. Once the glass is out, you will see the bulb holder for the signal on the edge of the glamor cap, think this is a bulb type 39 ( ??)
Have seen some people just move the glass all the way in ( so the gap is at the signal side of the mirror head ), and work it this way, I have not done this myself.

Right read blinker/break light dont work, turn signal blinks rapidly

It's the bulb. There are two filliments in the bulb. One is for when you turn your lights on and the other is for breaking and blinker flashing. When the break filliment goes bad it causes the blinker to flash very rapidly. 100% the bulb. Change it and all will be good again. P.S. if it were a fuse none of the break lights or blinkers would work.

Brake lights/rear turn signals

I had the same problem with my 1999 Yukon. The electric board needed to be replaced. Rust starts to build up and shorts out or blows the bulb. The dealership charged $73.60 for the part and I installed it myself (Saved $30).
