I would drain the oil you just put in and go with 20w40 motor oil. The wet clutch is not designed for 85w oil.

Hi, Jacobhibbele for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one. What oil weight is best for a 1996 yz 250?

Calls for 10w30. Any brand mc specific oil will do, along with any of the more expensive brands. If you need to go cheap, buy Type F (only)automatic transmission fluid. Change as soon as oil looks dark.

Just need info about changing transmission oil in 1996 Ford Crown Victoria LX. I'm not familiar with type of Transmission oil to use and how many quarts it holds and location of the drain plug.

You will need to drop the trans pan to drain. In turn you will need a trans filter kit which will include the filter and gasket. As far as fluid, it will require mercon dexron auto trans fluid, and will take about 6 quarts. What I normally do is fill with 5 qts and check, then add half qt at a time till full, which is normally 6 qts.

Puting wrong oil in transmition

The problem did not start untill the 10w30 Honda transmission oil went in. It isn't the 10w30 thats the problem. It's the TRANSMISSION oil as opposed to MOTOR oil. There is a difference. As I said before, the swelling may or may not go away.

Best wishes Ryan :)

Putting wrong transmition oil in yz 125

Nothing significant, don't worry about it. You do NOT want oil marked EC, signifying energy conservation. Such oil will cause the clutch plates to slip and premature clutch wear. If the oil you put in does say EC on the small round type seal simply drain it out and put in the correct oil. Not critical but the sooner the better.
