On most of these mowers the oil drain plug is on the bottom of the motor, under the deck. Remove the spark plug wire just to make sure the motor doesn't fire if you have to turn the blade to get access to the plug. Turn the mower on its side with the carburator down so you don't fill the crank case with gas. You may have to scrape or power wash some of the grass/dirt buildup on the bottom of the motor to find the plug. Remove the drain plug and let the mower down so the oil can drain it. When it stops draining, replace the plug, refill the crank case with oil to the full mark on your dipstick, replace the spark plug wire and you're done.

How do I change the oil

You change the oil by locating the drain plug in the oil pan, the plug is usually located on the side or the rear of the pan. Place a pan of some sort under the plug to catch the dirty oil once the plug is removed. Replace the drain plug and refill the vehicle with oil. If you are doing this at home, you should have car ramps to drive the front of the vehicle on, or jack up each side and put a jack stand on the frame on each side.

Need assistance on changing oil and primary. Warrenty is out and doing it myself.

The oil drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission as the oil tank is located there. Usually the drain plug is the one closest to the left front of the pan. Drain the oil, change the filter, and add fresh oil. To change the primary, locate the small pipe plug on the bottom of the primary directly below the derby cover and remove it. Drain the oil, remove the derby cover, and stand the bike straight up. Fill the primary with oil just until it comes up the bottom of the outer clutch drum. Do not overfill. To change the transmission lubricant, locate the pipe plug on the front of the oil pan on the bottom of the transmission. Drain the oil and refill though the plug and dipstick in the chrome release cover on the right side of the transmission. Add 20-24 ounces of oil.

Good luck

Looking to change the oil on my V6 AWD 2004 SRX. Where is the drain plug and filter case located? What size wrenches are needed?

Locate the drain plug, size 13mm, drain the oil, replace drain plug. The oil filter is located by the dipstick. Replace filter put 5.6qtz of 5w-30 synthetic and you are good to go. and the oil filter is located to the right of the engine cover if your looking in at it. It looks like a small cast iron canister with a nut on top (its all molded together). unscrew the top of that and it is in there, the oil wrench come and can adjust to different size, I assume you never done an oil change and don't have any tools. go to any local auto parts store and tell them you need everything from oil, filter, removal tools, oil pan, funnel and they will give you everything you need ans some advice. when you put the filter back on, I would only do hand tighten. make sure you rub a bit of oil around the new rubber seal on your new filter using your figure. Buy the time you spend for all the tools what what need for oil change you will spend as much as having the pro do it, Oil change has been cheaper to change now day compair doing it your self. many places are offering 19.95 to 29.95 oil change, its worth all the hassle to let them do it. do the math, filter 6.00, 6qt of oil 27.00, tools 8.00, funnel 3.00, oil pan 12.00 right there is 56.00 buck plus you get to craw under the car and get dirty.

Oil drain plug location

It's located in the bottom of the oil pan of the engine under the car. If your changing your own oil, you'll want to change the filter at the same time you drain the oil. It should take about 4.5 to 5 quarts of oil to fill it through the cap on the valve cover on the top of the engine. You'll need I believe a 13mm wrench or socket for the plug and a filter wrench.
