Howdy.if your bike is a two stroke the ring has a pin in the piston groove to stop the ring turning.on four strokes the ring gap should be off set to each other and generally placed between 20-25 past and 25-20 to [like a clock] but no where near the side of piston at little end pin.also use a little oil in grooves to lubricate while fitting rings.some rings have angled edges so check wether they go top or bottom directions in manual or packaging with new ring sets.most rings will be marked to guide you.have fun and good luck.cheers

hi mate the yamaha dt125 does have small lugs in the grooves of the piston if they are not there it just means that the piston is not genuine yamaha just make sure the gap in the piston rings are opposite each other ie if you have 2 piston rings the gap in the piston rings are at 180% to each other if you have 3 piston rings they the gap in the piston rings are as follows, bottom ring the gap at the rear ie: 6 oclock middle rings at 2 oclock top ring at 10 oclock

Piston ring for campbell WL506206AI

Most parts lists only show the motor/pump assy (WL373000AJ) for your compressor. Campbell-Hausfeld does however have a breakdown of the motor assy and shows the piston/cylinder assy (WL210300SJ) being available for your compressor. It would be available from any C-H repair center or online at sites like eReplacementparts.com. That is the only way the piston, piston ring and cylinder parts are available, you cannot buy just the piston ring even though that's the main fail part in this assembly.

How to install pistons on 88 gsxr 750 piston an rings on rods already

plenty of oil on the rings (even if experts tell you to fit dry)
You just need to tilt the barrel a little to get the first piston started in the bore for pistons 2 and 3, then spin the motor slightly till 1 and 4 touch the bores and again tilt the barrel to get one started then four

My son 06 250 sxf motor seized up won't start

If the bike has been seized up it's important to check out the piston and cylinder head. It's a good learning experience and not that hard a project. Remove the seat, tank, pipe and maybe the carburetor and you should be able to get at the head bolts. Pull the head and inspect the top of the piston and ring area. Rings usually get stuck to the piston so there is not any compression. Pull the jug and more than likely there will be alloy from the piston transfered to the cylinder heard.
Take it to a bike shop or automotive machine shop that can hone it to first over. Purchase new 1st over-sized piston and matching rings. Re-assembly and replace all gaskets.

I just got a 1996 kx 125,it looks like the previous owner installed a new piston and rings, the bike dosnt runn,i put new antyfreeze and new mixed gas,i got spark an a new spark plug,i cant get the bike to...

check compression, does the motor spin ez? you should talk with the previous owner and find out what he did. if he did change the piston and ring he should have rebuilt the whole motor. if he did change them why did he!?!
find out and get back to me

I got an aprilia rs125.i put an new piston and bearing but now i got 2 bum start it then it cuts out can u tell me why please

I assume "bum start" means you have to push or kick start the bike, rather than electric start it. If you put in a high performance/larger piston then you may just have a higher compression that the starter can't turn over. If it was stock, then there may be several possible problems. Make sure your piston is in correctly. There is an arrow or a mark on top of the piston that should be pointed toward the exhaust side. Also, if it is a 2 ring piston, there is a top and a bottom ring, and an upside and a downside to each ring. There is often a "t" on the topside of each piston ring to indicate which side is up. As for which is ring one and ring two, I'd have to see the rings, but usually, they are a different thickness so it is easy to tell which one is the first vs the 2nd ring. Any Aprilia dealer should also be able to tell you. There are other possibilities, but I'd start here. Good luck. www.solanocycle.com

Sometimes can't put first gear on, have to roll bike forvard half a metre toget it in, also some smoke coming out of front of the bike (kawasaki zx6r ninja)

The shifting problem is a bent shift fork. It will only get worse and is expensive to fix. The smoke is probably getting past a exhaust pipe gasket. When you fix the shifting it would be a good time to rebuild the top end with new pistons and rings.

I need a diagram manuel that shows pictures on how to rebuild a 1993 suzuki dirt bike

take off the 4 bolts on the head after you unplug the spark plug. then take out the c clips that are on the side of the piston where it connects to the crank oh ya if the cylinder wall is scarred then you will need to repair or replace it, but if not then keep following after you take out the clips the piston should come off im assuming you bought a rebuild kit now take the new piston and place the ring(s) on it then put the piston on the rod then slide the shaft inside the piston then put the new c clips on each side then place the cylinder on top of the piston (you will have to clamp the rings together with a special tool but if you dont have it your fingers will work fine then after you get the cylinder on you can put the bolts back in place then the spark plug wire and remember to break in the new top end by driving in first gear for a few hours.

Pit bike

Black is usually a sign that the motor is running rich. A carb adjustment would be in order.

Correct timing chain marks. is a diagram available?

if the timing chain is off i dont think it would run, id suggest getting you're cams checked and reseat your valves, i have the same bike and an electronic copy of a repair manual, not for the exact same bike however. i have not been able to find the correct copy.
