The jacks are not diffiult to find nor to install, but don't buy cheap radio shack jacks, go to a good music store and buy jacks ( the price may be 3 to 5 dollars each). take the unit apart and take not of where the wires go, wirte it down/draw a diagram, note colors of wire and where they go. cut the wires loose and take the old jacks out, then solder in the wires where they belong, and you're good to go.

Battery problem

DId you remove the plug from the input jack to turn the pedal off? If so then you may have a bad input jack.

My Boss Digital delay pedal won't stay on unless I keep my foot on it.

This is likely a failing switch under the pedal. Either the toggling mechanism is broken in it or if it is a momentary type it probably has "contact bounce" that exceeds the what the de-bounce circuitry can handle.

Low volume, high pith squill

The schematic is here:http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/xp60.php Take note though that the design was changed for the newer DD3. Here is a link to a forum with links to later DD3 service notes:http://music-electronics-forum.com/t15879/. Start checking transistors at the input. Check voltage readings on pins on the I.C.s to see if they match the supply voltage at IC10 . If you get voltage readings on pins that aren't supposed to have readings there is a good chance that the I.C. you are testing is shorted. Also check the diodes as you proceed.

At low input, repeats from dd3 are clean but when guitar is cranked repeats are unpleasantly distorted. How can I cure this?

You are probably overdriving the pedal. Reduce the amplitude INTO the pedal and AMPLIFY it more AFTER the pedal.

When digital conversion is done from the input and the input exceeds the input voltage capabilty of the A-D convertor, it effectively "flattops" just like your overdrive on a guitar amp.

Your guitar may be very "hot" having high output. One needs to keep the signal levels in-bounds of what the hardware can handle at EVERY point.

Ive got a delay ,chorus , wah ,distotion and compressor . how would i aet them in which order . thanks

Generally speaking, other than having hte compressor first to provide a consistant level to the other pedals, the order is personal preference. You need to experiment and determine the types of sounds you want. There is no "standard" order.

My boss digital delay works when engaged but no sound when not

sounds like the true bypass line has been damagd. Should be easy enough to fix. Pop open the unit and do a visual inspection first, if nothing is noticeable then do a continuity check with an ohm meter from input to output with the delay efffect off. If you don't read a short in this situation then your problem lays within the signal path and its switched path.

Boss DD3 - LED switches ON but the signal remains dry.

Have you tried a new battery?

If you have experience with electronics then open it up and start testing all the components with a digital multimeter to find the failed component(s).

Unfortunately the newer DD3's are harder to fix then they once were. There is no place to point you other than just to start testing everything. Hard to say what has failed. The signal into the input of the circuit may simply be shorting to the output. Maybe the switch or switching circuit has a fault.

My Boss DD3 just beeps and nothing else when i turn it on

If you have experience with electronics you could take it apart and use a multimeter. My guess would be one of the delay chips but its something hard to diagnose without taking it apart. An audio tech could help you out. Chances are it would be a pretty cheap fix. Unfortunately Boss pedals are almost entirely surface mount so replacing a component or two takes more skill than the average pedal.
