Question about Yamaha V Star Classic Motorcycles

1 Answer

Adjustment on a 2002 Yamaha Vstar. I replaced a perfeclty working clutch cable with an OEM stainless one, When you go to shift in first and release the clutch the motor dies. I have adjusted the cable and went so far as to put the old one back on but same thing, shift, die.. Any idea what could be causing this?

Are you by chance trrying this with the sidestand extended...? The interlocks in the design stop the ignition if the bike is placed in gear with stand down.
