I have a vt125 and i've left it standing for the winter over tough i've forgotton to disconnect the battery and now it doesn't want to start anymore on the normal elrctrical way. what can be the problem when the charger from the bike does irts work fine beacause after pusching the bike it runs smoothley allso my odometer jumps on and off when i use my dierctionlights
I 've tested the battery and it's still ok, i think the problem must situate itself on an other level beacause i still read the normal values for the battery can it be that it's the starter relay? grts dappertjeI 've tested the battery and it's still ok, i think the problem must situate itself on an other level beacause i still read the normal values for the battery can it be that it's the starter relay? grts dappertje

hi, it would be best if you can fully charge the batteries then disconnect them completely from the scooter, just by unplugging them or removing the battery box.
if the batteries are left connected slowly they will drain and the voltage will drop to a level that the charger will not charge them anymore .
The first thing I would do is clean your battery connections very good. you may have to remove the plastic covers off the cable ends to get them cleaned good. Also make sure you get the connection bolts tight.
Harleys pull a lot of amps starting,, Just because the battery says 12v doesn't mean the charge is handling the draw when trying to start them ,, get the battery LOAD checked,, remember also,, Harley's are known for drawing Juice when starting , thats why any dealer or shop will tell you that if you start one be sure and drive it a while,, start and stop trips eat up the battery since the alt won't keep up with the charging. when I leave mine for any time, I use one of the trickle charge units just to keep it at full
Yes batterys can come apart inside. The plate breakdown and drop into bottom not allowing charge anymore. Low charge can do alot of weird things to you jag. Replace the battery and when you do have them check alternator charging ability while your there. Almost all auto store will do this for free.
if it was left with any fuel in in the carbs then they could have solidified into a varnish type gunge. the carbs need stripped andcleaned. make sure when u are leaving it standing again over the winter that you either drain all the fuel out or fill the tank up with fuel and stabilizer. hope this helps.
buy a more tensioned spring thats very dangerous aswell for now but a cable tie around the stand to stop this my dads bike done this and smashed into a wall he couldnt lean over
Big explosion was probably from a large amount of gas that ran into the exhaust system and then ignited when you started the bike again. There probably is gunk from sitting in the carb. If you can't find them, then you probably should not disassemble them by yourself. It should not cost to much for a dealer to clean it for you.
