The cbr was running i switched it off and now wont start a smell of petrol but no overflow could it be air filter is blocked or something from there

Sounds like the engin is overflooded. You will either have to let it stand for a while or take the petrolout the engine.

Fuel running out of carb overflow pipes

Either the float is set to high, you have trash in the lines, or the more likely scenario is the atmospheric vent line is pinched or plugged.

Gas pumping out out overflow betweeen #1 -2 carbs when running or when key is turned on

Remove the float bowls on the left carbs then clean the carbs with spray carb cleaner. Pay special attention to the float needle. A bit of rust, gasket or other contaminant is preventing the float needle from shutting off the petrol. Please rate my answer.

When turn on petrol and kick bike, petrol is running out of overflow pipe on carb and bike wont start, and bike sounds flooded.

You have a sticking float in the carburator, due to old gas, or dirt. The float moves a needle that turns on and off the flow of fuel into the carb bowl.

Fuel leaking out of overflow float is not stuck, no petrol is getting to the engine???

If the float is not stuck the needle and seat are not sealing, it could be a worn needle/seat or dirt jamming the needle. With fuel running out of the overflow, your engine should be flooding if anything (and this will also prevent it from starting) check to see if the spark plug is very wet after you have tried to start it several times.

There is petrol leaking from the overflow on my zxr 400, should this overflow be connected to anything else via tube ....?

No, the overflow tube should dump the fuel out the bottom of the bike.

Possible solutions (?): 1: Don't over fill the tank. 2: Check for corrosion in the tank overflow tube.

Don't know where pipes go

you should have 2 vac pipes which go to 2 mounts under the petrol tank the other 4 should go down the back of the airbox towards the swingarm.
