I got a wobble on the back wheel jacked the bike up wobbled the back wheele so expecting wheel bearings. took it to garage and they vtold me one spoke had broke and the rest were loose. i was then told all the spokes were to come out and to be refitted and tightened. i cant see why the wheel has to be stripped just to replace a spoke and to tighten the rest up.

This is very unusual for the spokes to get loose on a wheel. Without seeing the wheel, I'm betting that the wheel has been relaced at some time or another with chrome or custom spokes. If they used the wrong spokes, they will not stay tight. Since the spokes came loose this time, they'll do it again. I've seen wheels laced like this before and the "knobs" on the hub end of the spoke does not lay in the holes like they should. You cannot keep the spokes tight nor the wheel trued. It's best to have it either relaced the proper way or simply replace the entire wheel.

Good Luck

Lexus,I recently had the rear subframe out and fixed leaks in differential, I have the car jacked up and in 2nd gear I notice that the drivers side wheel has a wobble in it. Is this a wheel bearing?

No, you check a wheel bearing by grabbing the top and bottom of the tyre and try and rock in and out looking for play. Worn bearing also make a noise when you drive, a whine or a drone. Normal cause of wobble is balance weights falling off, or a bent rim. On my Lexus, I had a slight wobble in the steering wheel and it turned out the alloy rim was out of true.

Bike developed a wobble, has side to side movement in front wheel

First check the tire-pressure, then the fork oil; see if the wheel has a loose bearing play.

1998 voyager front tires wobble back and forth when jacked up. Is it tie rod or ball bearing?

If it wobbles with your hands at 9 and 3, its a tie rod end.
If it wobbles with your hands at 12 and 6, its a wheel bearing.

Front rt wheel wobbles

If it is a front wheel drive, check & see if the axle nut is tight, if not tighten to spec's, if it is you may have a defective wheel bearing or steering rod, also check the ball joints.

The front wheel of my yamaha 80 wobbles when I am riding my bike. what is wrong

There can be two issues related to this problem.
The front wheel can be off balance on the bike. This means you will need to balance the wheel using a wheel balancer.
Secondly the wheel bearing could be faulty and result in wobble. You will need to check the front assembly fully, check the suspension and shaft.

The back end wobbles and it sounds like there's something loose in the back, in other words the car starts wobbling shaky like and you can hear something rattling in the rear

Sounds like a wheel bearing, better get it checked, or jack it up and shake each wheel to see which one it is, if it breaks altogether, the wheel can come off.

1984 Goldwing Aspencade wobbles when I slow down to make a turn about 10mph

Hi,
Most wobbling at lower speeds are from worn wheel bearings, tires out of balance, or a bent rim. Place the bike up on the center stand (if you have one) and have someone hold the handlebars in place while you move the wheel side to side. If you can feel movement, the wheel bearings are bad. If no movement is felt, rotate the tire and watch for wobbling. Make note if the rim appears to wobble at the same time the tire does. Do the same procedure for the rear wheel as well...If you have further questions, feel free to ask...hope this helps

We replaced the bearings in the wheel hub.. we took the tire off, the hub off, and replaced the bearing inside of it.. put everything back together and now the wheel wobbles while it is on the jack.. bout...

The bearing is a tapered bearing did you put it on the right way round so that the largest part of the bearing is at the back

That then matches the taper on the wheel hub

That is so you can wind in the castellated nut with a torque wrench to set the pressure of the bearing according to the manual

Front wheel wobbles

More than likely the wheel is out of true. There are 2 choices,

1 Buy a spoke wrench and attemp to true the wheel. You can do this by spinning the wheel to locate the spot where the wheel goes furthest to one side then tighten the spoke coming from the opposite side. Do this slowly 1/2 turn at a time. Do not over tighten the spoke. It may be necessary to loosen the other side slightly.

Alternate spokes between both sides of wobble.

2 Take bike to a good local bike shop to be tuned and have the wheels trued. Most shops offer a tune up at low cost. A well tuned bike will last a long time.
