You just need to install touch pad driver for the laptop model which you have. Even after that its not working, you will have to check your laptop with the help of a technician

Mouse pad won't work

whenever any device stops working first try re-installing it as follows:
go to start -> control panel -> devices -> press on + sign to open each device.
scroll down till u reach ps/2 mouse, right click mouse and release on uninstall., switch computer off (hard reset) and back on windows will then re-install driver during boot - up.
if that doesnt work go to laptops website and download its touchpad driver (most called synaptics) and install.

Mouse pad just stopped working on start-up today. Works with external mouse. Pad and left & right buttons just dead.

You may have turned it off. Check your "function" or "f" keys or the on/off button may be above the touch pad

Mouse pad will not work...only external mouse works....even though mouse is saying enabled on control panel

A laptop has a second function. It may be that you had accidentally clicked on Fn F7 or other laptops may have different Function to disable the mouse pad. You can determine that it is the mouse pad function because it shows a picture of a "hand in a square". To enable it, just Hold Fn then click F7 or different function.

My laptops mouse is not working

Hi,
IF you are referring to the external mouse attched to your laptop
then please check the same mouse with some other systm to verify if
the issue is with the mouse or with the laptop.
if the mouse is working fine with other system, then you need to
contact the service provider of your laptop.
Otherwise you have to buy a new mouse.
If you are referring to the touch pad of your laptop not functioning
properly, then please check the touch pad settings through control panel.
otherwise please shut down the laptop.
Take out the baterry out & wait for atleast 1-2 minutes.
Reinsert the Battery in the laptop & reboot the laptop.
Check if the mouse is working fine or not.
If the problem with the laptop still persist, please contact your
laptop service provider for further support.
Hope this will help you in resolving the issue.

Cheers!!!

Compaq notebook laptop: my mouse pointer or arrow is

If you have a manual for the notebook, check to see if you can use the function key and the similarly coloured key on the keyboard which enables/disables the touch pad. Usually you can disable the mouse pointer touch pad with this FUNCTION key + MOUSE key when pressed together. Often these keys have the same colour (usually blue). The purpose is to disable the touch pad when you are using an external USB or wireless mouse, then you press the 2 keys again together to enable the touch pad once you have removed the USB/wireless mouse.

If that doesn't work, borrow a USB mouse and attach it to your notebook to use temporarily while you diagnose the problem.

Acer aspire one touchpad right button not working

you can try using the function key ( fn ) and the touch pad key on my acer it is the F7 key hold the fn key and press and release the touch pad key that will turn the touch pad mouse off and on also goto control panel / mouse and try switch primary and secondary see if that will make the right button work if not its probly hardware related and your best bet is to keep the external mouse going rather than fixing that one

Dell latitude c610 touch pad left button problem

Will your laptop work properly with an external mouse? If so, check your touchpad settings in "Control Panel" by selecting "Mouse". Here you can reassign your Buttons. Try setting your Right Button function to "Double Click". If the "Double Click" function works on your Right Button then chances are you have a problem with your Touchpad Assembly which means it will have to be replaced. Dell refers to it as a "Palmrest" which they will replace if still under warranty.
