First thing to check is the speedometer cable to see if it has broken.

SOURCE: 1983 honda goldwing speedometer not working

Had the same problem with my GL 1100 I. A rock had kicked up and hit the speedometer cable mount at the fork and split the plastic screw mount. The cable terminus started to back out from the fork. Any way went to Honda spent $12.00 on a new speedometer cable and installed it in about 10 min.

SOURCE: Gl 1500 SE bike wont start of push button

If you jump the solenoid and it doesn't turn over, it is probably a bad starter. But don't forget to make sure the neutral light is on and the kickstand switch is good.

SOURCE: Just hear a click when pushing the starter button.

Make sure that the battery terminals are on tight and the battery is fully charged. Your solenoid clicks when you push the starter button, therefore the starter button is good. Jump the two terminal posts on the starter solenoid together, This will send power directly to your starter. If your starter now works you have a bad starter solenoid. Next, hold the starter button and tap on the starter with a plastic hammer, if the starter works now you have bad starter brushes. If something is burnt or damaged inside the starter causing it not to work you will have to replace the starter assembly since the internal parts are not available from Honda (except for the brushes).

1994 honda goldwing 1500 se starting problems

How is your battery? Sure sounds like it's too weak to turn over the starter.

Assuming that it always started just fine and then the battery is the problem. Many times it slows down gradually--like it turns over slower and slower until the battery finally has no power.

Try charging it.
