It must be tight on the starter.
check battery voltage when fully charged. it should read over 12.5v for a good battery. anything less then get a new one.

Hi, David before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
10. Security alarm needs a reset.
11. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
12. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
13. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
14. Faulty ignition relay.
15. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
16. Check for engine trouble codes.

2001 ford windstar won't start

does it have the halo around the ignition switch for anti theft? ive seen a lot of those fail and need replaced. on a side note be careful jumping the start on those vans,if the ecm doesnt start it sometimes it wont shut it off either. could be the resistor in the key too.

Katana wont start

You're most likely looking at a dead battery (try jump leads)

A bad starter relay (short out the terminals on top of the relay and see if it turns over)

Or a dead starter motor (service or replace or if it's sticking try rocking backwards and forwards in gear to unstick)

I have a 2001 olds aurora, wont start. Doesnt click or nothing, tried jump starting it dont do nothing. Battery is only 2 years old.

when you turn key on is there power to lights radio dash ? if yes check the starter relay and solenoid you can check easily using a test light find a good ground and a test light that works test light on battery first at the starter there will two wires one thick and will lead to battery the other wire is thin this is the wire you want to test have someone turn key to start while you test for power at wire if there is power at the wire replace starter the solenoid is deffective if there is no power at the starter sol wire then check starter relay

hope this helps leave me a comment and vote this was helpful any more questions reply

Brand new battery and still cant get it started???

Read the voltage at the starter terminal that goes back to the battery (connect the other meter lead to unpainted engine metal). It should read 12.6 volts even when you attempt start. If it reads less voltage, or the voltage drops to zero when start is attempted, look carefully at the positive battery connector and wire for white/green corrosion. Check the negative terminal wiring too, but corrosion is not as likely. If the battery itself does not read 12.6 volts, the new battery may require charging at low current for about 6 hours. Hope this helps!

I try to start my bike and it just clicks, it used to turn on with no problem but doesnt anymore thought was battery but charged it and still just clicks

Well, the first question is, where is the clicking from. second, check all the connections from the batterie to starter, and to the ground. sounds to me like a bad starter or poor connection somewhere. was the bike laid down? The starter switch should be fine because it is activating the solenoid, or so it seems.
