1ST gear is directly off the crank and should always be there. R u sure the lever isn't bent or something to that effect? Good luck Happy riding... HDTV GURU JAY

I can select first gear and ride away no problem, when I select any other gear there is no drive to the rear wheel at all, there is some slight odd noise coming from the clutch side but it seems to be...

Those are the normal symptoms of a worn clutch. It will pull quite well in lower gears but slips in the higher gears. I doubt if releasing the clutch adjustment is going to give you a bit of grace, you will soon have to replace the clutch, especially considering the noise.

Trouble shifting up gears but not down

Bent shift forks from the fall are the problem. The fix means a complete teardown of the top end and gearbox. Most shops will charge around $1250 for the repair.

2008 HONDA cbr 125 Popping out of 5th Gear

Only three things would cause the problem. 1) a slightly beny shift fork, 2) a shift index wheel loose, 3) the foot shift lever needs to be adjusted.

The most likely source is the shift lever needing to be lower. Once you are in 5th gear you move your foot to the top iof the pedal in preparation for a downshift. At high speed your entire body is leaning forward FOOT INCLUDED. Chances are that enough pressure is on the pedal to move the slider gear out of position and thus out of 5th gear.

I hope I am right in the solution. Best wishes.
