It is still the carb. Check the float level and be certain main jet is clear, and there is no water in the fuel.

My scooter was running fine, then sat for a week and when i went to go start it again, it idles strong but any throttle at all and it justs bogs down. Any ideas?

It's a problem with your fuel delivery. Could be bad gas, stuck choke, some scooter carbs come with some pretty rediculous carbs that weren't engineered very well. Dirt in the bottom of carb, stuck float. Hope this helps.

Xr400r's been stood a while, had trouble starting it, changed the plug, now starts easier but bogs on use of the throttle and only runs with the choke on half, changed the fuel cleaned the main jet but...

Make sure the carb is thoroughly cleaned, all jets not just main. The half choke is compensating for the slow circuit jet. Check your air/fuel mixture. Also, check the air and fuel filter. If all checks out fine and you still encounter the problem, could be : bad gas, wrong spark plug heat range, or most likely the diaphragm for the top of the carb.

Go Cart. Starts and runs only on full choke. 4 cycle, gas. Open choke, and engine dies. Sat for over a year. New gas, throttle working, spark ok. Can't find any air leak; carb never off of engine.

Remove the carb, then the float bowl at the bottom of the carb then clean the carb with spray carb cleaner. Spray into each and every drill hole and jet you can find. Use goggles so you don't accidently get cleaner in your eyes. Please, rate my answer, thanks. Reset the air and throttle screws, one and one half turns outward from a lightly seated position. Please, rate my answer. Thanks.

Hello, I actually have a small crf 50f and have started it in a year or so. Today after firing it up, I couldn't achieve full trottle without the bike sputtering out. I've drained and changed the fuel and...

Disassemble the carburetor and clean it. The jets are partially gummed up from old gas that has evaporated leaving a varnish build up. If you can, soak the entire carb and parts in denatured alcohol for about an hour. Then clean with spray carb cleaner. Spray into every hole and jet in the carb. On re-assembly, lightly seat the throttle and air screws then open each of them one and one half turns. This is the factory setting. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Honda 2003 crf 230 bike idles fine with choke on,dies with choke off

You sound like you have a blocked idle jet in the carb. Honda trail bikes love new oil, clean air cleaners and clean fuel. After a while a build up of tannins and crusty residue will invade the carby bowl and usually migrate through the carb via the jets and the emulsion tube where the jet needle runs. The easiest way to fix your problem is to remove the carb and go through it. Clean all jets and check float height and generally get it back to scratch. You will have to re- adjust your idle and mixture settings after you have fited it back to the bike. If you are not Mechanicaly savi then I would suggest you take the bike in to your local honda dealer and get them to go through the carb for you.. It's not a big problem and is easlily fixed.

Hope this helps...

Cheers...

Bike bogs for second then revs when throttling

Pull the slide out of the carb then remove the jet needle and move the clip one notch lower on the needle.
