No I have replaced the Battery, it is brand new. I have had the charging system checked by Mechanics. And they cannot find anything wrong with the electronics. I am at a loss.

Are you sure it's not a tired battery? After time they don't charge as deeply as they used to. Have battery load tested, I suspect "tired" battery.

Hi, i went for a ride 3 days ago and parked the bike in the garage since, this morning my k8 gsxr 1000 didn't' want to start, when pushing the starter button I hear a 'click&am

Most of the time this will be the battery, the battery is very weak, will need to be recharged using a trickle charger, if the battery won't hold charge, you need to replace the battery.

It might also be a faulty starter motor and or solenoid.

You will most likely have some sort of electrical problem, a drain problem, parasitic draw.

The problem has to be found and fixed.

Hope this helped and have a nice day.

If the battery continues to fail, I would check the alternator brushes and see if they need to be replaced. Chances are they are worn and the battery is not being recharged sufficiently.

The camera seems to drain the batteries very quickly when not in use, example I put in new batteries and 4 days later they showed half full on the screen. They were the AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

Be sure that your Ni-MH batteries have a high enough capacity to hold their charge for extended periods. The cheaper batteries are just that. If you have not tried this, get some new Energizer 2300 milli amp hour batteries. These should perform much better for you. If that does not solve the problem or you don't need to get new batteries, check to be sure there is not a continual contact that works like keeping the camera on all the time. I have seen this on another fix suggestion. Hope this helps. Keep looking for solutions posted on the web.

I recently bought a 2005 softail deluxe and was told before purchase the battery was going out so the seller put a new battery on before purchase. I rode the bike for approximately 3-5 days with no issues...

If you are buying a multitester also consider buying a small motorcycle battery charger. They make ones that have a remote charging cable that you put on the battery one time and then you have an easy way to connect the small charger up when the bike it sitting for long periods. This will keep the battery fully charged and ready to go when you are.
Some batteries are sold only partially charged and you need to bench charge them fully before running them on the bike. Depending on your bikes energy demands the battery may never fully charge up during regular use.
If you put the multitester on DC voltage check the battery to see what its resting charge state is.
If the battery is reading less than 10.6 volts its probably down too low the recharge itself using the bikes alternator. Charge it until its resting voltage is 12.0 volts. Then your bikes alternator can make enough juice at 14-15 volts to recharge the battery while its running.
Good luck and be careful.

When the bike is switched off the battery drains

If the battery is getting old (4 to 5 years) it may not be able to hold a charge as well as it did. Have it tested, it may need changing. If an alarm is fitted to the bike it will drain the battery as it will use power even in standby mode.

2008 Yamaha wr 250f with a voltage drain on the battery.

Hi Explorer,

aside from hallogen fog lamps, i cannot think of other matters / parts of a bike that can drain the battery. this is a clear short issue. check the wirings and make sure that the circuits are harnessed, you'll see the difference once they are tied up. BTW, if the battery is a year old, have it recharged.

Bike dies if rpm rise above 4 or 5

Hi!

That clicking noise comes from the start-relay, that tells your battery is out of power or almost out of power, when the battery isent giving enough of power the start-relay clicks. Recharge the battery,
Now for that other thing, that your bike dies around 4-5 rpm, that can be caused by many things but i think that you will find the solution in the carbs. You told us that the bike has been standing outside for 3 years, that tells me that you carbs is in need of cleaning. Inside the carbs is a lot of smal parts that opens and closes when you hit the gas, after so long time outside some part dosent work as they should, therefore when you hit the 4-5rpm the bike dosent get the right mix of fuel and air since the carbs harsh and the bike dies.
Take the bike to a repaire shop and let them clean and calibrate the carbs and your problem will be solved.

Good luck

Battery drains

I too have problem with camera on/off switch . Solved the problem by charging battery fully and installing only when I needed to take pix. Then removed it when not required. I found I could open battery cover and remove battery while camera was 'on' as an emergency measure, without apparent damage.
