Sopunds like cool fresh air entering the exhaust system. Cover the outlet and check for leaks under pressure. Hope this helps

I have a vw beetle 1600 which backfired .I replaced all plugs and she started now refuses to start .

i have owned three.. worked on heaps

probably your plug leads in wrong order

1972 VW 1600 cc is: 1 - 4 - 3 - 2

the plug leads can break or pull off at plug ends or breakdown internally during a plug change

if not ,,a coil ,,,or points gap ,or dissy cap .dissy .carbon tip or leads arcing

very rarely any fuel problems

not enough details as to make model year ,engine capacity, carby and any work done like changed plugs and leads , tune up etc
if you did plugs and /or leads and it is a v8 then check the firing order for crossed HT leads

Cub cadet cc4125 dies when throttle is advanced

Hi, the carby needs to be stripped down an all jets blown out with compressed air. Also check that fuel is flowing to the carby, do this by pulling the fuel hose off the carby and cranking the engine. Regards Phil.

Will start with some amonut of choke on, but will ...

Carby carby carby!
Give the carby a flush with some Carby Cleaner. (retail 400g aerosol can)
Check condition and clamping of inlet manifold for cracks, warping or air leaks.
Reset Slide Needle one notch down.
Turn air mixture screw fully in and back out one and one half turns and try idling now.
When you get engine idling turn the air mixture screw in or out to the highest revs without use of throttle. Reset idle to optimum speed with throttle stop or idle screw.

Backfiring through carby and exhaust

Sounds like the carby is flooding.

Have you had it off?

Try putting a new fuel shutoff valve and seat in.

Set the proper float level.

Make sure that the float does not have a hole in it that makes it sink.
