What causes a bike to be hard to pedel?

Many things. Usually too high a gear. The smaller the cog at the rear wheel the harder it is to get going, but when you do, it is the fastest speed. Move to the largest cog and pedalling will be very easy and is great for going up hills.

Apart from that

Binding brakes, spin the wheels and see how it feels.

Binding pedals, spin them by hand.

Binding centre crank, remove the chain and turn the pedals and crank.

My bike will turn over but wont fire but if you roll it down a hill it fires right up

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR COMPRESION,,,THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOUR PROBLEM,,,YOUR COMPRESION SHOULD BE BETWEEN 90 AND 120...IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE TO REBUILD THE TOP END,,,SUCH AS PISTON AND RINGS...

Hi, i just got a 2003 yz450f and theres a black "trigger" right next to the clutch on the handle bars. Is it the choke? because i've held it down and tried to start the bike but it backfired...

THIS IS A COMPRESION RELEASE IT IS FOR SLOWING DOWN FASTER OR FOR CRANKING COLD.USE IT TO GET THE PISTON TOP DEAD CENTER AND THEN CRANK. OR WHEN YOUR RIDING YOU CAN USE IT TO SLOW DOWN WITHOUT HITING THE BRAKES....

A friend asked my to look at his bike. He blew it up and replaced piston... ran for 5 weeks and blew again. Got another piston and ring and it had NO compression . Long story short.. I ordered a NEW...

Hi,,ok that is a lot of wasted money spent,,the power valve plays little role in compression,,the FIRST thing to do is remove the flywheel and check the crank seal,,the compression has to be going somewhere,,,and the stator side crank seal is almost allways to blame(blows engines real fast,,sucks air, motor runs lean and bang!)

good luck

07 ttr 125 cranks but will not start right up when it does it will not take gas it dies and you have to turn key off and back on before it will start back it will idle for a few seconds and die again over...

I have two ttr 125's and my son has another, all 05's but i ran into this with a friends 02 as well. All ttr 125's are cold blooded bikes to say the least. the cold starting procedure that works is to first lean the bike over to the left till it dribbles a little gas on the floor. hit the electric start for a few seconds only, wait 20 to 30 seconds and do it again. holding the starter button down and cranking will do nothing but flood the bike out. short busts only, dont give it any gas ever, this will also do nothing. first it will start for a brief moment then die, hit the button for about 3 to 4 revelutions and wait, the next time it will start again, most likely only for a few seconds again, repeat this and each time it will run a little longer till it keeps running on it own. the best way to get your ttr to start easier is to cut the top of the airbox off, this will give the bike more power (youll see why when you look at the tiny opening) and allow you to spray starting fluid under the back of the seat right into the airbox. it makes starting a cold bike 5 times faster. usually only 2 repeats of the starting procedure.

It will only start by pulling behind a vehicle when its cold. Wat could be the problem I'm thinkn it needs a valve adjustment

hi, coud well be a compresion problem, when the bike is started will it tick over or does it just peter away and stop if you remove your hand from the throttle? recheck the valve clearances, have they been adjusted with the engine on he correct stroke? when the cam lobes are facing down the valve clearenes should be set with the engine on tdc, and cold, it is always best to have a slightly larger clearence to alow for expansion , good luck paul

Rapid engine mis-fire code

Try changing the ignition control module IF replacing the cranksensor doesn't fix the problem. If the problem still persists check the injectors. They should test at 12V or higher. If they test lower... they need to be replaced. Newer injectors usually sit at around 14V. But start with the crank sensor...sounds stupid and little but it plays a major role in how well the engine runs.
