Question about 2005 Qianjiang QJ100-2

1 Answer

I have a 49cc two stroke bike, (pit bike) like new. Starts first time, no problems. But after 10min of riding the bike stalls out. If i leave it for 20min then it will start again. Run for 10min then stall out again. I am using fresh fuel and the correct oil/fuel mixture ratio of 25:1. My problem is I only get 10min riding time, then the bike dies. Please help.

Ok, a two stroke engine basicly needs 3 things to run: fuel, compression and ignition.

First, check that the fuelline, fuelfilter, or fueltap is not blocked. If the fuelflow is alright, check that the compression is fine. try kicking the kickstarter a few time: the should be a certain resistance. If the compression is wrong try changing the headgasket. If it is alright, check the ignition. This is done by taking the sparkplug out at placing it on the frame, when you kick the kickstarter a spark should jump from the sparkplug to the frame.

But my guess would be that you have a partly blocked fuelsystem.

Minimoto (Wasp) 49cc - two stroke

Check the muffler, remove the exhaust pipe at the head and look for carbon buildup also. See if you feel much exhaust coming out of the muffler, 2 strokes bad about carbon buildup if mixture is wrong.
