I have a 2007 zx6. It sat over the winter and was never started, now it won't start at all. I just replaced the battery but when you turn the key it does nothing. What could be the cause of this? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

check neutraul safety switch for malfuntion ..It is near the shifter linkage either in the console or under at the transmission link area..

Try starting in neutral. Gear sensor may be heating up and not registering park.

clean all your battery connections from battery to starter and selonoid connections and ground cable also where it connects to frame

Neither ... charge the battery first. New doesnt necessarily mean fully charged.

Charge it with a properly sized charger for 24 hours then check with a volt ohm meter.

check spark plugs,check for spark. check fuel is good. possible needle and seat gummed up in carb float bowl. disasemble and clean with brake or carb cleaner.do not change float level. re assemble ,you can use the cleaner to help to fire the motor with a shot through the carb. make sure you cleaner says flammable. good luck.

I had this as well. the dealer had to replace a computer component and issued a new SAMRT Key that was linked to the the new part. N/C.

Did you connect the poles correctly and are the bolts tight to keep good contacts?
Try usin a trickle charger to jump the battery.

charge the battery...see if it holds charge....if not get a new battery

Sounds like a battery problem mate, give the battery a charge and see how it goes, If it has been sitting for a while it sounds like it might be a carby problem, so clean out your air filter, give her an oil change and give the carby a clean and then try kicking her over with a fully charged battery
