My last bike was a 1998 zx7r that i had from new. it was always a pig to start if i didnt get it right.
i had to start it with full choke and NEVER touch the throttle or it will never go.
keep hitting the starter if you have to but dont touch that throttle.

Timing on a 1997 50 hp Evinrude model BE50TLEUC.Carbs has been clean new plugs refuse to idle and struggle to start.

OK.. have the carbs been professionally cleaned and set?
Has the engine been sitting up? - Check the compression.
If the compression is good and the carbs ARE clean and set properly.. check for air leak.. this will make idle rough and hard to start.
Check the choke and make sure its working properly.

Hello,my 1983 ford ranger doesn't start it does smell like gas when im cranking it over .ive had rebilut carb, cap rotor ,has good spark on new plugs ,new fuel pump, new filter and carb is getting gas.im...

That solenoid is the electric choke and it will flood the truck out if it's not working properly, have you tried to hold the butterfly opened while cranking it, if it starts then, you can unplug the connector to the choke and run it, it just might be hard to start when it's cold.

Goped sport wont start has good spark, compression, axhaust is clean, air filter is clean.

The problem you are describing indicates a Lean (not enough fuel) condition. Are there any adjustment screws? If playing with the adjustment screws doesn't fix it, then I would try cleaning the carb again. I used to work in a lawn mower shop and I know these carbs can be very tricky. It takes multiple cleanings and compressed air. Now an afterthought. Is the choke adjusted and operating properly?

I have a toro recycler model 20371 with the kohler 6.75 149 cc has auto choke it has spark just put new carb on it but still wont start it sputters but nothing do i need to turn the auto choke when i hook...

I am not sure what your question is here, but let me see if I can help:

When you say it sputters, is the engine producing a lot of smoke, like it's getting too much fuel? If so, the choke may be part of the issue. If not, the air fuel mixture may be too lean and you may need to turn the low speed screw out. Start with 1/4 turn and work from there. Too much, and you will flood the engine.

Opening the choke to start a cold engine can cause it to run rough, sputter and stall. Even though it may be 85 out, the engine is still not up to operating temperature - it is still cold. The choke needs to closed to allow the engine to get the extra fuel until it is started and going.

Another thing to check with the new carb is that it is tightened properly. Too loose - extra air gets in. Too tight - you can bind movement inside - generally not a big issue. And way too tight and you can crack the mount on the carb and it will leak air.

Remember that a model of a carb can be used on many different engines, so they are set for the most common air / fuel mix. This may not be the one you need. And even if it is, it will still need tweaking.

One last thing - though probably not the case - make sure you are getting good fuel flow. I doubt that is the issue, but it could be adding to it.

Good luck!

Bike sat for 2-3 weeks. Will now start with choke, can give gas on choke but when off choke bike will not run - chokes out when throttle engaged. This is my first bike, no knowledge of engine.....

Carburetor issue. Most likely the pilot jet is plugged in one or both carbs. Remove the carbs as a set, remove the float bowls, remove and clean all of the removeable jets, (do not use wire to clean jets, use carb cleaner or the proper jet drills if you have/know how to use them). Reassemble and reinstall making sure that carbs seat fully in the manifold boots.

My cbr 600 f2 1993 had been sitting for a long time

Sounds like the carbs were not properly cleaned or set up. Choke should cause the cold start rpms to be higher than what you are experiencing. Application of choke to a warmed up engine will usually cause the engine to stall.

Flooding,black smoke,run hard,choke sticking

The first thing i would look at here is the choke pull. Make sure that after the car starts, the choke props open. Also, as the engine warms, make sure the electric choke is opening up. If not, make sure you have 12V to the choke. If so, replace it. This should solve the problem.

But let me know if you need any further assistance, ok? We'll get it working! :)
