Even though the transmission is in neutral...is the neutral light workimg?
To satisfy the interlocks, even if the light works.....try starting with sidestand up, and the clutch pulled in.
If it now starts...the interlock ciccuit is not sensing the bike is in neutral. If the light doesn;t work....inspect the wiring for your neutral switch ....usually the circuit grounds through the switch to the crankcase so any wiring break will prevent it from working.

Why wont my 09 ninja 650 run

Hi, Keith and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Fuel line to the carburetor or throttle body pinched or kinked.
8. Carburetor float stuck.
9. Fuel injectors clogged.
10. Severely discharged or damaged battery you need 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
11. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
12. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
13. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty MAP, CKP, O2, TPS, sensors.
14. Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch.
15. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
16. Faulty CDI box.
17. A stuck bent or burnt valve.
18. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
19. Check for engine trouble codes.

I have a 2006 kawasaki ninja 650r and i am trying to adjust the riding height, is it possible and how would i do it

no the bike is not fitted with a ride height adjuster you can only stiffen or soften the rear shock absorber preload on the spring or drop the fork through the yokes.you can on the other hand buy either shorter or longer dog bone links for the rear suspension linkage to lower or lift the rear suspension

Hi, I have a 2006 zx10 and I had a bent clutch rod after changing a broken clutch lever, so after installing the new one and the clutch is hooked up when i start the bike and pull the clutch in dropping...

You may have a kick stand switch which will kill the bike if you try to ride off with it down, The switch on the clutch lever is so you cannot start the bike in gear unless its in neutral. There should also be a switch that goes in the transmission that works along with the other switch(es).
If at least one of these has a fault then that may be your issue.

Look at the clutch lever switch closely. Sometimes they have a small pin that the lever touches. If that small pin broke off then the lever cannot make contact.
then look around the trans since you were in there changing a rod.

Brand new batterys keep dieing and bike cuts off 10 sec aftrer starting

sounds like you have a faulty rectifier/regulator.When these items fail it usually causes the battery to go flat or boil.See your dealer for parts.

I have a 1994 zx9r and i`ve been told the control box plays up,as this as happened on my bike,which makes the start button dead is this true

Not as far as I know. the starter circuit is controlled by 3 relays in the fuse box. these are operated by neutral switch, clutch switch and kill switch.

Bike shut off on the freeway and wont start again.

Got gas? Got water in the gas? Drain the carbs and fuel line.

Check for spark. If no spark then check again with a new plug.
Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Tip-over kill switch on your bike? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.
Are all wires clean and with a solid connections? Check the loom. Any abraded wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. With a little luck this will get you back on the road.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Starting my bike

Hi,

On most bikes including Kawasakis, the starter button would be on the right side of the handle bar on the throttle grip assembly. It would be right below the headlight switch. Above the headlight switch would be a switch that must be set to RUN, this is the engine kill switch.

If the above still fails to crank/start the bike, then the following would have to be checked:
  • battery and battery cables;
  • starting relay;
  • starter motor.
If the engine will crank but will not engage/run, then you need to check for:
  • spark at the plugs;
  • fuel as supplied by the carbs.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
