Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLSTF Fat boy
On the earlier Fat Boys, the negative battery cable went from the negative side of the battery down to the rear bolt that holds the starter on. Without the proper tools, it can be a real bear to get to. Shine a flashlight on the backside of the starter from the right side of the bike. The cable should connect to that large bolt to the rear of the starter.

Disconnect the negative cable on the battery with the 8-millimeter wrench and allow 15 minutes for the circuits to go to sleep before beginning. This will disable the SRS, or airbags.
