Its obvious you have a dead short somewhere,,,sounds like when you put pressure on fuse door,,it is pushing a bare wire onto the frame and blowing the fuse,,,check any connections you have installed or removed,,even under the fuse holder,,,make sure you have the right size fuse to handle the load..

My 1998 Honda shadow keeps blowing the main 30 amp fuse as soon as you hook up the battery. Any suggestions

Hi, Steven you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. Where can i find the main fuse on 1996 nissan pickup?

Most main fuses are located close to the positive battery cable and in some cases attached directly to the positive cable located in a plastic box with a cover. There may also be a fusable link used for a main fuse which will connect to the starter

Can a bad voltage regulator cause the main 30 amp fuse to blow?

Usually a bad regulator will only cause problems with charging...
Sounds like you've got a short somewhere in the wiring...I'd start by checking the ignition switch wiring and the connections going into the fuse box.

02 Escalade will not start

It will most likely be a poor earth issue, make sure the earth lead between the battery and the body is good and clean and check the one between the body and motor.
Poor earth connections cause excessive current draw and will blow fuses.

Turned ignition on, heard a loud pop and everything went off. tried ignition again, got nothing, no battery turn over, nothing.

Start by checking the fuses and then the battery connections, this sounds like a fuse poped maybe a main fuse, if its a fuse then replace the fuse if it pops again then theres a dead short somewhere, these are famous for bad starters and starter relays going bad, so see when fuse pops again if its when key is turned on or when you try to crank the motor, if its when cranking then its mostlikely the relay or starter, this main fuses would be in the engine compartment fuses box.

Harley Davidson Wiring Diagrams and Schematics
Hi Anonymous, you have a hard/dead short that should be easy to find generally they are the easiest. Time to get out your test light and connect it to the power side of the, circuit breaker or the blown fuse receiver, start by tracking the out bound wire towards the ignition switch and beyond if necessary, when the test light quits lighting you are very close to your short. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website above. Good luck and have nice day.

hi

you have a direct short to earth in your main circuit or a shorted electrical device taking it to earth

please check battery for internal short ?

check your wiring in the main circuit for problems

ie wires chaffed, cut, burned connected incorrectly- connacting earth

here is website

http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=cub_cadet&mh=11

might pay to let your local service shop trace the fault

these types of problems can be tricky

but have a look around in and under things on the mower in case you can see something obvious and may show signs of getting extremely hot or wiring sheaths melted away

cheers

Left channel not operating on crown xls 602

Every time i have this prob i've blown that channel. In my case i,ve had dodgy connections to my speakers and if it is operating with high voltage rails they don't take much to blow.
Take off cover and you will no doubt find fuses somewhere blown. If it has come from speakers you prob done the amp but if not you might be lucky and just have to replace a single fuse or so.Good luck,Paul

If the rectifier is internally shorted, it will pop fuses as fast as you can replace them. Look for a finned device near the battery that has several wires going to it.
