No, you have a 4-stroke cycle engine. Tell your friends you have added oil to see if you can continue the game...

Hi should my 2014 450 sxf blow a black ish kind of smoke when revved an on down rev a bluey black smoke think its called blow by? And what should I do to fix it? Could it just be a spark plug? Thanks

is yours the 2 stroke model or 4 stroke model ? 2 stroke model they do burn oil so it would be blue/black smoke, 4 stroke should be gray/blue color, if 4 stroke model it could be the timing is out a bit or the spark plug is not set right. or weak dispak. it can also be the fuel to air mix is out of alignment.

Is it 4 stroke or 2 stroke

Does it have a dipstick that indicates the amount of oil?
If it has, it is a 4 stroke and does not require an oil/fuel mix.
If it does not have a dipstick, it is a 2 stroke and will require a mix of oil and fuel.
Without knowing anything about your genset, I would think that it is a 4 stroke.
A 2 stroke motor would deliver the power too high in the rev range.

Does a yamaha 2003 atv have four stroke engine?

Do you mix oil into the gas?? Is there a place to check the oil (a dip stick). Is there a special place to put 2 cycle oil for a self mixer?

If you don't mix the gas with oil and there is no special place to put 2 cycle oil, you have a 4 cycle engine.

If there is a place on the side to check the oil level, you have a 4 cycle engine.

Next question will be ... how do I check the transmission oil? If you have a 4 cycle engine, the engine oil is also the transmission oil ... rule of thumb.

You are showing a picture of a motorcycle and asking a question about a ATV, but not mentioning a model number. I don't think Yamaha is currently making a 2 stroke engine for their ATV's (there are several sizes - not including assorted models for sale around the world ... and I don't know where you are writing from (and please don't say).

Maybe the best thing for you to do is call the Yamaha dealer on Monday morning and tell them the model you have and ask the question 2 stroke or 4 stroke. There will be no more guessing on your part then.

Make sense?

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

We should fill honda activa tank with mobile oil or without mobile oil

I i am not wrong you are asking about adding oil to the petrol tank. you should not add oil in petrol tank for any 4 stroke engines yours is 4 stroke. engine oil will act as a lubricant to the piston. No need to add oil with petrol for Honda Activa.

I have got 26cc homelite hedge trimmer what type of 2 stroke oil do i need for it, MANY THANKS

You can use any brand of two stroke oil as long as it says on the container that it is suitable for air cooled engines and you need to mix it at a ratio of 25 to 1. Regards Phil

How much oil do you use

Answer 1. Engine oil. On *** bikes its usually stamped on the side of the clutch cover. Or there is a glass window with a little - (dash) for the upper & lower levels. Or a dipstick on the clutch cover filler cap.
Answer 2. If your talking about a 2 stroke & want to mix oil/petrol I recommend you ask a Honda dealer what the correct mix is.
Answer 3. It would have helped if you had told us the Make, Model, engine size, year, type of engine 4 stroke or 2 stroke.

I have an old craftsman snowblower. It is a pullstart. I inherited this from my father. He did not have the manual.. wondering if I could find how much gas to oil mix and if it is a 2 cycle or 4 cycle...

The way to tell if it's 2 or 4 stroke is, if it has seperate tanks for the oil and petrol then it would be 4 stroke. I know that's not entirely true in today's world but up to recently it was. If it's 2 stroke then you need to mix the petrol with 2 stroke oil. Unless someone knows the right mix ratio I would start off with a rich mixture of 25:1 and see how it goes. If it's giving off a lot of smoke I'd reduce the oil a little to 30:1. It should be ok with this ratio. Use good quality 2 stroke oil e.g. Husqvarna or Stihl as some of the cheaper oils available at car service stations are not as good at protecting machinery.

I live in méxico and i just bought a used 2004 cagiva raptor, i suspect it is consuming to muhc oil because of the altitude of the city. i think this because even though it does not drops oil the...

Hi, Colin_albert and the usual suspects are:
1. Oil tank/pan overfilled.
2. Restricted oil return line to oil tank/pan.
3. Restricted breather operation.
4. Restricted oil filter.
5. Piston rings badly worn or broken.
6. Valve guides are worn and or seals worn, crushed, missing, or have come of guide and is pumping oil through the valve guide.
7. O-ring damaged or missing from oil pump at crankcase junction (also results in poor engine performance). For more information about your issue, please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.

Want to no if it takes petrol on its own when fueling or 2 stroke oil added to it aswell

i guess your asking if its a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke right ?
2 stroke engines dont have an oil filler cap , just a fuel filling point, the fuel used in a 2 stroke is just normal unleaded (aus) but you mix 2 stroke oil in the fuel before filling (about 50/1) or whatever it recomends.
4 stroke uses the same fuel but you dont mix the oil with the fuel , it has its own filler point for oil , however you must use a 4 stroke oil with these .
hope this is what you were after.
