Hi, i have Highland Outback 950 V2 1999\r\n i need any information on the injection system. motor for long runs and a 60-100 km pours candles. I can not find a service manual, even under the order.\r\nThanks

SOURCE: new rotor was battery question

so I removed the stator and took it in to get a replacement. The shop tested it or me and found everything in working order. I have done the tests for the regulator/rectifier and it seems to be good. My manual tells me that the only way to test the rotors is to swap them out with new ones. should I not be able to tell if these rotors are magnetized without swapping them? The rotors that I have currently are original to the bike and do not seem to have any magnetic charge at all. When I took the stator in I was shown used rotors that they would sell me as a replacement but these also had no magnetic field to them. How can I tell without shelling out $80 bucks for used rotors that may or may not be good? And am I even on the right track??? I'm still only pulling 13.5 volts out of the charging system and I need help. I looked at the microfiche for your bike. the rotors are only magnetic when the field coild is energized. You do not have a permanent magnet rotor. so no magnetism when unenergized is normal.,

If it runs when you pour gas into the intake then stops you have a bad fuel pump. In 1976 most used car orators. This being a German auto at that time... Maybe had the early fuel injection using the lamda (sp?) Mechanical system... If it does then you need a mechanic with experience on mechanical fuel injection.

I just noticed the oil level on my 950 Vstar is down almost a litre in 3800 kms. Is this normal?


Oil "use" on engines can vary widely, depending on the engine design and the conditions under which the motor has been run. VW, for example, considers 1 liter of oil consumption per 1600 km to be perfectly acceptable performance in its automotive engines--much to the chagrin of many car owners, who are used to motors that don't consume oil at even half that rate. In addition, sustained high-speed driving / riding will also tend to consume more oil, mostly because oil vapor is sucked into the engine as part of the emissions system.
After a long (300 km or more) highway run with my old XZ-550, I was always down about half a liter. I could ride much further than that around town and in low-speed riding without consuming any noticeable amount of oil, even when I started using synthetic oil, which had a tendency to leak past some of the motor's gaskets.
I would double-check with other V-Star owners, but I am personally not alarmed at the oil consumption that you have described, even with a relatively new, probably low-mileage motorcycle.

Directions for desktop tealight fountain by innovage inc. need to know how it works...where to put water?


Hello there.

If you move around the stones, you will notice the candle platform sits on a platform suspended over the base of the fountain. The base of the fountain itself is where the water is poured in.

You may need to lift up the candle platform off of the base in order to pour in water. When filling the fountain, ensure that there is enough water or you will hear a loud "humming" from the motor as it tries to pump water where there is none. Be sure to pour in the water slowly, as the fountain may overflow if there is too much for the basin to hold.

Battery ques


Put a voltmeter on the battery. Everything off the battery should be 12.6-12.7 volts or so. A little higher or lower is o.k. Start the bike. Rev up to about 3000 RPM. Voltage should climb and then go to about 14.0-14.5 volts or so. Again a little over or under is O.K. If the voltage doesn't climb above 13 volts or goes over 15 Volt you definitely have charging issues.,,,

I reuse cotter pins on everything enless they feel weak. Its Roll pins that I refuse to use again.

if it has the rear bumper collision cut off switch check that. it may be intermittent.
short it out or open which ever it needs.
find where it leads to engine /computer as it may be there too.
check the ignition switch and the wiring firewall distribution box.
the hard part is you are likely loosing ground somewhere.
does it have vehicle entry alarm if so see about bypassing.
