There is no model shown but if you check the fuel tap filter before anything else.

How many fuel filters are on a 89 caddy brougham

there is one in line between the fuel tank and half way towards the front of the car. there is one in the fuel tank that is attached to the fuel pump inlet tube. this one is actually called a sock. this is usually changed only when the fuel pump is replaced or something has been put in the tank that shouldn`t be there, like sugar in the gas.

Fuel filter, 1997 buick centry custom. could you tell me where the fuel filter is located and how to change it on this auto? thanks! also, how hard is it to change? thanks, r.a.

The filter is back by the left rear tire under the car I believe. The filter itself is not very expensive. Like $15-$20 maybe. A person with some mechanical skills can do it but of coarse care must be taken because you are dealing with fuel. You can do it with basic tools. Make sure you use best safety practices when getting under a car. E-brake engaged, car off and in park, wheel chocks behind tires.. You may need to be on your back when doing it looking up at filter. There might be pressure in the line that may cause fuel to spray out of it. So great care must be taken especially if you are a novice. It might be a good idea to have a professional do it. It shouldn't cost too much. Besides, if you have any doubt it is better safe than sorry. Maybe go to an auto parts website and see a picture of the filter then see if you can find the filter on the car and determine if you think you can do it or not. Hope this helps!

I replace the fuel pump in my 1990 full size bronco and now I cannot get it to crank. The reset button is depress, the filter is new, and new feul is in the tank. Pleas let me know what else I need to...

Your ford should have a schrader valve in the fuel rail for testing fuel pressure. You shouldn't need to remove a fuel line. On the left inner fender there are two, maybe three relays, usually encased insome type of enclosure. The relay with the green plug is the fuel pump relay, the relay with the brown plug is the EEC relay. Unplug both of these relays and inspect for corrosion, broken pins, and corrosion. A problem with either relay will cause the fuel pump not to run as the EEC relay controls the fuel pump relay. Corrosion at these connections has been very common at my shop.

Lets try to see if it is a fuel pump. Get some carb cleaner and unscrew the intake hose ( air filter hose ). Be careful not to spray the mass air flow sensor and open the throttle body valve and spray in the intake while someone tries starting the car. If it starts then dies, it is your fuel pump. If it does not start check for spark by pulling a spark plug or using a timing gun. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. No, it shouldn't. It could be a fuel issue or a an ignition system issue. Check your fuel pressure and make sure it is correct. It could be a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel injector. It can also be in the ignition systems, such as plugs, coils, wires, distributor cap, ect. Your ignition module could be going bad but that would be checked last.
