Question about kawasaki KX 250 Motorcycles

1 Answer

I have a kawasaki kx 250 and it will only shift to 1st and 2nd and no further. When it is in 1st or 2nd i have to hold it there or it will drop right back to neutral. Why is it doing this?

It could be caused by a worn/damaged selector or even just a clogged with mud/grit gear shift lever.

1998 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, when getting on it and shifting from 1st to 2nd it drops to neutral, however when riding it normal it goes through all of the gears just fine. Only has the problem with 2nd...

This is normal for Kawasaki's...2nd won't engage until the gearbox output shaft is turning fast enough to locate the centrifugal lockout bearing. This is to make it easier to find neutral at a standstill...

My 2000 yamaha yzf and sometimes when i shift from 1st to 2nd it will shift into neutral instead of 2nd. Any suggestions on what it might be?

I had a Kawasaki where if you pressed the gear shift halfway down in either 1st or 2nd it sent it to neutral.Maybe you're just not pressing hard enough to shift? Please let me know whether that is it or not and we'll see what we can do.Thanks and good luck!

2004 kawasaki kxf250 its stuck in gear

More than likely you have a transmission issue. Could be a bent shifting fork, or a worn shift drum. It probably needs to be split, or opened up to determine.

HOW DO I SHIFT A 2003 KX 250

pull your clutch in on the left handlebar push the shifter lever down and let you clutch out slowly while giveing the bike a lil bit of gas. But if you don't know how to ride i wouldn't be jumping on a kx 250

GPX 250 will not go into gear.

try to change 1st gear to the last if all of the gear does not engage you have a high clutch try to lower the adjustment of the clutch cable if you tried it already and still the same then the problem is your shifting drum it is worn out that's why it cant push the first gear.
