The clutch is hydraulic, and uses brake fluid.More than likely either the clutch master cylinder,or the clutch slave cylinder is no good.I'm in the aftermarket transmission repair industry, and the general rule of thumb is,if replacing one, replace both (master and slave cylinders).Check the reservoir for the clutch hydraulics, and if it is low or empty, the system has a leak.Inspect all the lines and rubber hoses too.It is still possible that their is a mechanical problem with the clutch pressure plate, but i would look at the hydraulics before removing the trans. The clutch pedal is also adjustable, after the problem is resolved.
