Hi there i have a 1995 toyota camry 2.2 the car has difficulty starting the engine swings but doesnt kick in when the car finally starts and i put my foot on the accellerator the engine goes dead this carrys on several times before i can get going. the engine management light also stays illuminated. could this have something to do with my engine coolant temperature sensor? its broken off.

The light may be , but not the starting issue. Sounds to me like this needs a complete tune up the way your describing the starting issue. The engine light usually do stay on while a car is starting, they are programmed to go off 10-15 sec after the car starts. This is simply the computer going thru all the sensors.

This is for a 1995 Toyota Camry, 2.2 engine. I

most of the time ive seen a broke car after an engine wash its been 2 things a ruined throttle position sensor they are not water proof not even on jeeps.or a bunch of vater vapor insinde distributor cap [if yours has a dist.]but you could have blown off some hose or wire take a close look for that.

1995 Toyota Camry fuel pump, Engine turns over but doesn't start

Wel to start with ,,remove the fuel feed pipe tp carby or injector rail to find if you have fuel pressure there,, if ok then go to your coil check for feed to pos side and then check No 1 plug (but must be pluged in and good earth on engine) if ok then the problem must be in the timing or still in fuel system,
