Hi. i just bought a used honda steed 400 and i want to change the chain. Is there any repair manual available that you know? i also would like to know whats the best oil for this bike and how often should...

There should be a repair manual available at your Honda Dealer. If they don't have it they should be able to order it for you. As an alternative, try the Honda website.
Another option is your local public library. In the self help section. Just ask where the auto repair books are.
Oil change? When you buy a used bike, CHANGE IT !!!
Chances are, it has not been maintained or ridden recently. Keep an eye on it with the oil dipstick. When its no longer clear and golden, change it. I cannot tell you how often to change it because that depends on your engine, how you ride, and how often you ride, as well as the oil you use. If it looks dirty, change it.
I also suggest you replace oil, fuel and air filters for the reason stated above.
