Hi i have just looked this information up and apparently that using 100% distilled water can cause your iron to spit and leak, to solve this problem you should press the steam button and keep pressing it until there is no water left in the iron, then try it again, if it still does this, repeat a few times and then the iron should be fine
hope this helps

The steam is coming out but no pressure when I press the button for the steam to jet out

If you're experiencing an issue where steam is coming out but there's no pressure when you press the button for the steam to jet out, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. Water level: Check the water level in the steam generator or steam-producing device. If the water level is too low, it can result in insufficient steam pressure. Make sure there is enough water in the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Clogged steam vents: Over time, mineral deposits or debris can accumulate in the steam vents, obstructing the flow of steam. This can prevent the steam from building up pressure. Clean the steam vents thoroughly by following the manufacturer's instructions to ensure proper steam flow.
  3. Faulty heating element: The heating element is responsible for generating steam. If it is malfunctioning or damaged, it may not produce enough heat to generate adequate pressure. In this case, you may need to have the heating element inspected or replaced by a professional.
  4. Malfunctioning steam generator: If you're using a steam generator, it's possible that there is an issue with the device itself. Check for any error codes or warning indicators and consult the manufacturer's troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for assistance.
  5. Incorrect settings: Ensure that you have selected the appropriate steam settings

How to dismantle Russel Hobbs RHI225 steam iron

Press the self clean button , hold it there, and gently move the iron to and fro, over the basin or bowel. CAUTION: Keep clear of the escaping water and steam. Water and steam will wash scale and dust through the soleplate, and into the basin or bowl. When the water tank is empty, release the self clean button .

I bought steam generator iron, iron work but doesn’t produce steam

Mix 1:1 water and white vinegar. Fill the water reservoir with mixture and hold the iron like you would normally. Keep pushing the steam button until steam comes out.

The iron has been all descaled, however we cannot get any steam when pressing the button. It is a Tefal express generator model 3 years old.

Once you have descaled the boiler and refilled your frontpiece of the iron itself (hopefully with distilled water - any supermarket) you press the "reset"/ "restart" button on the back end of the steam generating unit. When the water is hot enough press steam button & turbo button a few times - WARNING: make sure iron is facing downwards and cover ironing board with old rag because initially brown steam splatter will come out on first few steam releases.

Sunbeam steam valet instructions

How to fill your Sunbeam Steam Valet
Here is how you fill your Steam Valet. Press the small button on the back of the handle and pull bottom of handle apart from the top half of steam valet. Then take off the white cap on the inside of the handle and fill with water to top. Place cap back onto the opening and slide handle back and click in place. Plug in and you're ready to steam within a few minutes. If it spits out water let heat up a little longer if that doesn't stop it then tie a thin cloth over the top part where steam comes out to keep the water from spitting out onto your fabric. Hope these instructions are clear enough. More questions about this iron go to www.manualslib.com.

The iron heats up, but when the steam generator button is pressed no steam gets through at all.

Chemicals and minerals in the water have probably clogged the vents. Empty the water. Pour 1/2 cup WHITE vinegar into the reservoir. Turn on your iron and let it heat. Then press the steam generator button several times until the vinegar is gone. Unplug the iron. As it is cooling, take acotton swab and gently wipe the surface of the vents. You can probe GENTLY with the swab, but don't push it into the vent or the cotton head may get stuck.
As you're pressing the steam button, keep the iron in the ironing position, not standing. If the vinegar just will not come out of the vents, use a wooden toothpick to loosen the build up.
This always works well for me and I hope it does for you.
If so, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice!

Solenoids workin, steam lines fine, but no steam

take hose off from iron end, press iron button ,breifly! keep tight hold of hose [best to put towel around hose while holding]see if steam comes out.if not hose could be blocked, then take hose from solenoid end and press button .if no steam comes out the solenoid is either faulty or the valve hole inside is blocked, turn off power and take nut off top of solenoid ,check spring and plunger for condition.the small hole may be blocked in the solenoid housing, try a needle in the hole to clear any blockage.
