Hi, oil is very much as good as 1another, obviously if you beleive in brand name oil then you will pay more for the oil than you would for a none brand name, all of the oils on sale for motorcycles have been tested and have a good writeup the specific grade for your bike is 10w40 / sg/sj/(ma) providing you buy a semi or fully synthetic oil and change it frequently along with a new filter and a new sealing washer for the drain plug, you wont go far wrong (the make is your choice) good luck

How many quarts of oil for a 1997 honda cbr 900rr?

Most are about 3.5 quarts with new filter. Best way to handle this is warm the bike for a bit then drain oil, put new filter on, then add 3 quarts of oil( put the drain plug back before adding oil), Start bike for a few seconds then shut off. Get on right side of bike and pull it upright , look at the little glass window located on the lower right side of bike. Add oil until the oil is in the center of glass window.....Important, make sure bike is upright to get a accurate reading.

Good luck

Respected sir, plz tell me which engine oil is best for my CT100 bike

Hi
Any good quality SAE 10W/40 oil up to SF grade or if specified for motorcycles will do fine
Car oil has friction reducing properties which are no good for bike clutches!!

Procedure to check oil level for RT1200 (police bike). Do I need to check the oil level when the bike is cold or after warm up??

Check oil when bike is cold...... here is the best procedure.

Ride bike (and enjoy)
Park bike on side stand, let sit for at least 10 minutes or overnight. (lets oil drain out of cooler into sump)
Put bike on center stand. Bike should be on level ground
Check oil level in window on lower LHS of engine.
Level should be anywhere inside of red circle in sight glass.
DO NOT OVERFILL let level get down to lower edge of red circle before adding oil

Good Luck!

What oil fits best my bike?

Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. 10w40 is what goes in the engine. I am not familiar with the Cagiva brand motorcycle, but you probably have an oil dipstick on the end of the oil filler cover. Fill the gearbox until the oil is mid-point in the indicated range, probably 3 quarts will do.

Change the oil filter also, (assuming the bike has one). Recheck oil level after running the engine for a minute. This allows the oil filter to fill up. Often the oil capacity is shown right next to the oil filler hole. If there is no dipstick and no oil capacity information at the filler hole then best to contact the dealer and ask.

Oil

I use amsoil for my bike. Suppose to be the best oil around. The online dealers are a little expensive, but I found a local shop that sells it at a reasonable price.
