Can't figure out how to get the rear seat cowl off of my 1999 suzuki gsxr. i have taken the driver seat off and the two screws that go into the sides of the cowl, however it still won't come off.

Could be ignition fuse. If not that then check the large block connectors which are usually located on the left hand side at the front of the bike behind the cowling beneath the handle bar. These connectors are notorious on GSXR's

Dont know which model suzuki you have, but if its a GSXR with a split seat, I believe the lock for the seat is on the left side just under the passanger seat. Insert key and turn it to un-lock. While holding the key in the un-lock position, lift up the drivers seat where it splits from the passanger seat. from there, you can remove the passanger seat. Most other models you turn and hold the key in the un-lock position and lift up the back of the seat. On older modles, you turn the key and lift the seat from the side.

There are two bolts (they take allen keys) one on each side of the seat(toward the back before the rear seat pillion or cowl cover) remove those and it will slide to the back to remove it.

Look under the "typical driver side" right above the chain, under the rear cowl cover there is a key lock. Use the key for the ignition to unlock that lock, as you unlock it pull up on the cowl cover and it will slide right off, if you have the rear pillion"back seat", then you will just pop it right on. And it will be the same procedure to remove and replace that if you want to.

The front seat has a 10mm bolt on either side at the lower rearward part of the seat under the sides, remove bolts and lift up from the rear of the seat and slide the front out of the slide retainer at the rear of the fuel tank, the rear seat has a bolt in the cream color tab at the front of the seat, remove bolt and lift up and slide seat forward or remove the rear portion from its retaining piece at the rear. Rider seat It should have 2 allen bolts on each side of the seat. At the back of it. Just lift up the rear corners of the seat and you should see one on each side.Hope this helps you out

1. Pull up the back end corners of the front seat and you will see a bolt on both sides.
2. Remove the screws
3. Push back and up from the front and seat will come off.

under hood drivers side on fire wall between engine and brake master cylinder take off wiper arms slide tab at bottom lift off -- un- screw cowl the cowl is in 3 parts -unscrew center with hood closed first the screws are recessed about an 1-1/2 below the top of cowl open hood and unscrew the both sides of cowl and remove than remove center watch the washer hoses now will have access to the wiper transmission mark where transmission is before unbolting motor and transmission remove motor install is in reverse

allen keys under ,rear corners of seat.Lift up to reveal !
