I keep blowing the park light fuse in my '91 jeep Cherokee. It came w/ a tow bar and a tow hitch. I sold the tow bar and have been trying to systematically remove the wiring for the front tow bar w/ varying results. The park/tail fuse blows right away, and sometimes it takes a few days or even a few weeks. The worst part is that the wiring diagram in my book doesn't match w/ the colors in the tail lens. Any help would be appreciated!

Know the feeling about the colours of wires as iam colour blind in red/green ,but it could be a wire or connection where the tow bar was connected or it could be the bulb holder but i have to be carefull here as iam used to the europeon wiring standard on these vehicles which is different on the back lights to your model as we use a seperate indicator light so teh indicator isnt the stop light but check the bulb holders and the bulb bases anyway just in case a piece of solder or something is loose ,but find the tow bar connections and remove the connection then tape it all up well .

Where is the module that operates the rear running lights on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee

FUSE all good, F13 is park relay power feed.

running lamps on truck not trailers.
parking lamps are all dead front and rear,?????not told good and bad both.
park= tail = running lamps, 3names but sure we know what you mean.
well fuses are first
and no trailer hitch wiring wrecks ,mangled, as seen all the time,
that blows those fuses or cuts wires that must never be cut.
rear only fail and rear left right, only parks dead
3 bulbs not blown, , one blows and is ignored.
is rear license plate lamp dead too, that too is PARK feed.??????
are side maker lamps dead too? Park feed, yes.
G301 rear not rusty? ground for park.

park relay dead kills them all

L90 park runs them all,.
fuses are first,. or connectors end to end of the car L90 park are bad. both parks dead and license; lamp dead. are they
L90 is DB/RD dark blue? red stripe I think.

L90 feed runs all park lamps on the car, even front so
we know front works and L90 at the switch below is good
that means all 3 lamps on the rear are burned out (expected too this old)
or the wiring in the car, rear, is bad. L90 bad or grounds to all lamps bad or trailer hitch wiring messes. endless seen,.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 l yesterday my brake lights out now today all my rear tail lights and brake lights are out?

WJ jeep USA.
fuse blown
or caused by trailer wiring rear, hitch, all mangled common
or past collision damged
front park lamps dead to or side lamps park dead/??????????????

only takes eyeball to see that.
or scan the PCM it will tell you why.
the service manual has the schematics for all that,
brakes + tail/park but blinks ok?
beside bad wiring, (I have A reAL WJ MANUALS ALL)
THE FUSE 6 IS BLOW
OR OFF F6 THE RELAY PARK IS BAD.
THE BCM BRAIN RUNS THE PARK RELAY TOTALY
SO BCM FUSES MUST NOT BLOWN, Just test all fuses. ?
BCM fuses are F7, f22, and f28, not blown./
the BCM must communicate on the network or fails
PCI bus is Jeeps name
if anything trashes this bus vast things fail.

if BCM is dead vast things fail over 25, and endless seeming list

not told you what does work? (telling only bad things only makes the job 10 x more hard.
scan and it tells you what is dead in 5min work. on most cars./.

Left turn signal and brake light not working on tow vehicle

bad wiring in tow vehicle, (connections) or at towing car side.
many cars, have towing options, factory and have relays and fuses just for the hitch connector.
so anything here can be bad, use a voltmeter AND FIND TRUE.
cause in 5min work.

2000 Jeep Cherokee #7 10 amp fuse

You will have to check the positive wire of the wires that go to the parking and side marker lights for a short to ground.Check the easy things first like the bulbs for these lights. It could just be a shorted bulb. You can remove one at a time and see when the fuse stops blowing. You an get a short finder from a part store and save the trouble of getting a bunch of fuses.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I keep blowing the same fuse. under the hood how can i find where the short is?? It the fuse for the dashboard lights and tail lights?? Dashboard lights for sure.

do you have a tow hitch? if so start at the wiring for the tow package usually corrode and short out the lights. if you don't have tow package harness at the back then i would be looking at the front side marker light wiring, if dash lights are effected it means problem is in the park lights only.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Light keeps burning out

If this vehicle has an aftermarket towing package installed check for the trailer hitch wires shorted or kinked under the vehicle.
