Wiring diagram I havea Dog and cat appart and are trying to understand the wiring. From the power side I have a black then another black for a individual terminal each and 2 x blue coming from a single terminal on the 3 pin plug side. This is passed thruogh the switch to a 4 x pin terninal strip that has a brown yello blue and blak from top to bottom. Can any body help me with a wiring diagramm so I can traced these wires?? The problem with the vacuum is that the motor is not running. I am trying to determine (with the use of a miultimetere) if power is getting to the motor. The motor/fan assembly has a semiconductor switch (SCR?). There is a 5-pin connector that has WH/BK = AC; RED/RED that seem not to go anywhere; and a GY. The mating connector has only the WH/BK (AC) wires (only). The RD/RD/GY wires seem to be floating. There should be some connection between an ON/OFF switch and the SCR gate. What is missing?

Hello,
First check the cord to make sure you have continunity throw both leads, check them at the cord reel, there are 2 wires hooked up to it, if not then the cord is bad. Check the swith also, the next cause would be the speen control mounted on the motor, part #04416342, sells for around $85. If your motor checks ok, then it most likely the speed control, they go out quite often...Thank you

I need a good wiring diagram for my Oreck xl vac

Chuck,
I do not have a diagram for you but I can tell you how they normally are hooked up. When you have the motor sitting in it's normal position the black wire from the power cord will attach to the terminal closest to where the cord comes in. There should also be a black dot next to the terminal. The two white wires will connect together and they will go on a terminal on the other side of the motor that also has a black dot next to it. The remaining black wire should connect to a terminal next to the white wires or at least on the same side of the motor as the white wires. Hope this helps you.

Ametek wiring diagram for a Oreck XL21 600 ECB

I cannot find a wiring diagram from where I am located right now, but I do know that the black wire coming from the power cord goes to the top side of the motor when you have it laying upside down with the cover off, and it will go to the tab towards the back of the vacuum. Sometimes they put a black dot beside the tab and if that is there you put your wires from the power cord on those. You will also have two wires coming from your light bar in front and the white wire will usually have a piggy-back terminal that your white wire from the power cord attaches to as well. If there are no black dots beside the terminal tabs the white wires will connect to the bottom terminal on the opposite side from the black power cord wire. It will usually be on the lower side of the motor as well. The black wire from the light bar will go on the remaining terminal tab as there is usually only three tabs on the motor. I will check back later this week to see if this has helped you and if not I should be able to get a diagram this weekend.

Will it power up without the hose attached? If it does then you have a clogged hose. If not, there is a circuit board by the motor that may be bad.
