Je89 ignition

1989 Jeep Cherokee (i had an 88) for 250k miles.
is this the EFI engine , 4.0L I6?, what country?

if yes, it has the old funky Renix Bendix EFI.
never seen an after market scan tool work here.
but try here. for how to get the CEL to flash , error codes
all EFI can report, CMP , or CKP sensors bad. for no spark
EFI fires the coil with an Ignitor.
see if its here.
http://www.scantool.net/software/alldata-diy-1-month-subscription.html

the EFI can report, 3 type ignition failures, so scan it.
see why?

I just rebuilt a 2.5 4 cyl jeep motor for a 89 jeep and it back fires though the throttle body

it's timed wrong. (EFI or carb. on the old jeep, In USA they are EFI)
1: cam timing
2: or spark (timing set wrong or firing order wrong to coil)
or both.
did you use an FSM> and read the pages on that.?

89 jeep cherokee 4.0 it bogs down and will accelerate in drive

Make sure that the timing is correct and that the spark from the coil is healthy. Problem can also be with the overdrive in the converter. If it's stuck on it can do that too.

No spark from ignition module on hot start

95 JEEP WRANGLER 4 CYL

No spark. I have changed out the distributor cap, rotor, wiring from coil to cap, and coil was replaced. I checked the distibutor by turning ignition key and observing the rotor turn. What else can I check. I did not observe a module.
