Take off the seat and the bolts at the rear. Then,

Remove the two lower fairing panels and look at the very front lower part of the dummy tank, you will see a bolt at this point on both sides.

I am trying to get the seat and tank off of my 1982 goldwing aspencade.

you will remove the tops from the saddle bag, there are two allen head screws there under the seat ( one on each side) then pull up and back, the False tank has two screws in back and two up front, , in the fairing is two rubber panels, next to the compartents, and the bolts are under there, there are better sites for information on goldwings, I belong to 4, google them

I have a 1982 goldwing aspencade, I am trying to get the seat and tank off,I can't find any directions in my manual to do this,Can you help.

take the covers off the saddle bags, there are allen head screws under the seat, one each side, then lift seat up and back,, the " FALSE TANK" since the gas tank is under the seat, is held on by 4 bolts two you will find once the seat is off, the other two up front are under rubber fairing pieces.

Coolant change 1982 Goldwing

To drain the water, you have to remove the drain plug from the water pump. It is located under the lower radiator hose on the left hand side (facing foward on the scoot). Of course, you have to remove the radiator cap so air can bleed it out. (of course, the honda guys would want you to remove the reserve tank & clean it, etc.) after you fill it, just let it idle for a while to check for leaks & to remove air, so you can recheck your fluid level. hope this helps, Rick

How do I remove the false gas tank on a 1984 honda goldwing

You can pick up a complete owners/service manual as well as the parts manual on cd. I got mine for my GL1100, then when I upgraded to my GL1200, I picked up another set from the same person.
Contact Wanda G at [email protected]. I believe she still sells the cd's for around $7.00 including the shipping anywhere in the US.
When I got mine, she included both the owners/service manual and the parts manual. Pretty big to download, at around 200mb.
Manuals are good enough, I just rebuilt my engine, and all 4 carbs and I'm no mechanic.
