How do i get a manual on how to sync the carbs on my 1987 YFZR1000? It doesn't hold idle when its cold, but once it warms up it idles at about 2500 rpm. it also pops a little bit when close the throttle on the freeway. but when its under load its very powerful and smooth. you think i need to sync the carbs?

Sounds like the idle is set too high. Around 900 rpm is good.

06 v-star 1100 when twisting throttle and then back to idle position it takes a while to idle back down or stays at high rpm

More than likely the carbs are plugged up(makes the no idle, popping from the intake or pipe and sometimes hard starting), and/or a vacuum line(s) Is loose/broken, and the carbs are probably out of sync (makes the high sticking idle/little to no idle). I have many article written about cleaning the carbs and fuel system. Get the carbs and fuel system cleaned out if you are not familiar with the process.

1987 60 hp mariner idle & high idle great, stumbles/ stalls in gear on take off, head gasket or poor idle adjustment?

Clogged idle circuits in your carbs. Clean jets and passages.
You can try suck dirt out, therefore: Screw the idle mixture screw out ( almost totally ), give full throttle ( 1 second ) and then hold your hand against the carb air intake.
This will give maximum suction and can suck the dirt trough tje circuits.
Also, first drain the carb(s) to be shure there is no water in it...

Idles fast problem

That would be your engine "choke" functioning. It's not a problem. The choke engages when engine is cold and shoots extra fuel to the cylinders to idle the engine up especially in cold with. Once the engine has sufficiently warmed up, the engine will idle back down.

Atv hanging idle

check your float height? sounds like its high and runs normal when cold like the choke is on but when warm its getting too much fuel.

High RPM between shifts or at idle after driving/ warm engine

Clean the choke and linkage around the air cleaner again.

You are on the right track.

I will give ALL the intake manifold bolts a 1/6 turn....just to rule out leaky intake manifold gasket.

Check for loose or leaky vacuum hose.

Since you truck is 1987. I will replace all small vacuum hoses.

Change one at at time.

====
Change the fuel filter
====
Test fuel pressure
====
Check the ohm specification on the coil.
====
If the wires are over 3 years old then replace it
Check and clean contacts
====
Make sure the wires are not cross.

Do a good carb. cleaning and use Chevron gas for one tank full. Do some high RPM highway ran and see does it improve.

Have 1987 nissan sentra wagon 1.6 carb.engine the problem is an idle problem when I start in the morning or when its had time to cool down I depress the accelorator pedel to set the choke and high idle cam...

Check your Ignition timing before anything
check your plugs see what color they are
red or orange means carb is to lean , black
or oil means to rich then you can go from there
and set mixture screws on carb , let me no how you make out .
